Gitaar intro.

Hmmmmm...
Nohooo...
Hmmm...
Come onohohohn.
Let me be, your, your, your...
Let me make you move.
Ow...

Ain′t no sunshine when she's gone,
It′s not warm when she is away.
Ain't no sunshine when she is gone,
She is always gone to long,
Anytime she goes away.

Wonder this time where she is gone.
Wonder if she is gone to stay.

But it ain't no sunshine when she′s gone,
This house it ain′t a home any time she is away.

And i know, i know i know i know i know i know...

Ain't no sun shine when she′s gone, she's allways gone to long, anytime she′s gone.

Wonder this time where she's gone.
Wonder if she is gone to stay.

But it ain′t no sun shine when she is gone,
This house,
It ain't no home anytime she goes away.

Anytime, she goes away.

Overall Meaning

Sofuja's song Ain't No Sunshine is a sorrowful ballad that speaks to the emptiness and longing that comes with the absence of a loved one. The first verse sets the tone by repeating the refrain, "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, it's not warm when she is away." The use of negative language and the stark contrast between sunshine and darkness conveys the deep sense of loss that the singer feels.

The second verse adds to this feeling of uncertainty and longing as the singer wonders if their loved one has gone for good. The repetition of "wonder" emphasizes the singer's anxiety and lack of control over the situation. The final verse brings the song to a close with the same refrain and a declaration of the reality of the situation. The repetition of "anytime she goes away" brings a sense of finality to the song and emphasizes the inevitability of loss.

Overall, Sofuja's Ain't No Sunshine is a powerful song that speaks to the pain of separation and the longing for the return of a loved one.

Es la mejor versión de este tema de un vocalista que yo haya escuchado. No sé qué será de él hoy, pero hay cantantes de una sola canción, y ya con eso se ganan el paraíso.

Thanks for posting this, i've just stumbled upon Boris today as i was searching for some Donny Hathaway songs. He has a phenominal voice, no matter where he's from. I've read some posts about trying to make it in the US and struggling back home, but he should give the UK a go. There is a great soul movement over there and i imagine his awesome voice would be appreciated rather than back in Holland.

@nonimi2037

He is so underrated unfortunatelly... Love u Boris!!

@MissJayG

his voice here in his younger 'sofuja' days was a tad shaky compared to now (say what? lol). But his control and voice has actually grown to one of the best that belongs among the greatest!

This is a beautiful rendition of the Bill Withers song.
