The early Soliloquium releases were classic death/doom metal music, influenced by early Katatonia, Paradise Lost and October Tide. Time saw the band getting more experimental, incorporating elements from genres like shoegaze, post-rock and progressive rock. The band got signed and released debut full-length "An Empty Frame" in 2016 on U.S. label Transcending Records. The second album "Contemplations" came out in 2018.

It Was All Taken Away
Soliloquium Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
He closed the doors on life
Lonely days until the final rest
Sorrow's burden
A hesitant smile
A graven image of what was lost
I never wanted you to hurt, nor suffer so
I never wanted you to hurt, nor suffer so
Can we find meaning, and reconcile?
To the deepest pits of grief
It seems we are destined
To overcome and fall again
Absent reward
Fine winter days
Drenched in sun
The beauty stained by loss
We could only watch
As you were stripped of all your worth
Every promise made
Time can betray
The lyrics to Soliloquium's song It Was All Taken Away describe the feelings of abandonment, loneliness and grief that often accompany a loss. The first stanza speaks of the singer's state of mind after being betrayed and abandoned, and their decision to withdraw from the world. They are left to suffer alone, burdened by sorrow, with only a memory of what they have lost.
In the second stanza, the singer expresses their feelings of guilt for not being able to protect their loved one from harm. They question their own ability to provide support and seek meaning in the wake of their heartache. The third stanza talks about the universality of grief and how it impacts everyone. It is a part of life that one must learn to overcome and accept.
Overall, the song is a poignant reflection on the journey through grief and the struggle to find meaning and hope in the aftermath of loss.
