Star City Meltdown returned to the studio with producer Brett Hestla in April of 2011 to begin work on their follow-up to Stick In The Eye. When asked about the new album in a recent interview, Bassist Cody Cupp described it as "Much more mature and dynamic. It's everything our fans love about Star City Meltdown, but it's certainly much different than Stick In The Eye. The songs are heavier, but they still contain great melodies and hooks. We can't wait for everyone to get their hands on this record."
Star City Meltdown is currently touring the country, and has plans for a national tour to support the release of the upcoming album. The new album will be available for purchase in-stores and online July 5th.
Ready Or Not
Star City Meltdown Lyrics

I can't forget how your lips hold up your smile
Those Bristol lights are dawning on me
And it's bringing you back
Are you thinking of me
And I can't stop now
You are the only way
And I'm feeling like it's ready or not this time
I can fight
I can win
For the chance let me in tonight
And let me make it alright
I don't know how
And I don't know why you would trust me now
I've buried myself in letters to you
But the words can't compare
To what I stand to lose
And I'm feeling like it's ready or not this time
And you've got that look in your eyes
I can fight
I can win
For the chance let me in tonight
And let me make it alright
Let me make it right
Let me make it alright
The lyrics to Star City Meltdown's song Ready or Not are centered around the theme of second chances and a desperate plea for forgiveness. The singer is reflective and remorseful, realizing that they have made mistakes and hurt the person they are addressing in the lyrics. They long for the person's trust and forgiveness, hoping to make things right between them. The opening lines "I've waited for awhile, I can't forget how your lips hold up your smile" depict a sense of longing and nostalgia, where the singer reminisces about the positive memories shared with the person they hurt. The second line of the verse "Those Bristol lights are dawning on me, and it's bringing you back" suggests that the singer is in a different location now but is still reminded of the person they miss.
The chorus, "And I'm feeling like it's ready or not this time, and you've got that look in your eyes, I can fight, I can win, for the chance let me in tonight, and let me make it alright" captures the sense of urgency and desperation the singer is feeling. They want to seize the opportunity at hand to make things right, knowing that it might be their last chance. The overall vibe of the song is emotional, intense, and raw, as it delves into the complexities of relationships and the pain that comes with hurting someone you love.
