His musical tastes include (but are not limited to) blues, folk, jazz, reggae, R&B, rock, punk, & ska.

As a teenager, Steve was a regular attendee of punk, ska, indie & metal shows in the quaint Brantford music scene. The most vibrant of Brantford's venues was The Ford Plant. It hosted a variety of different shows, ranging from punk bands such as Vermicious Knid & Hold Up Your End to folk acts such Blue Rodeo & Great Lake Swimmers.

Three days after graduating high-school in 2008, Steve left the nest and moved to Hamilton ON. There he found what he was looking for; a city with plenty of young musicians, artists & intellectuals and venues to perform. He has resided within the city of Hamilton for the last five years, and has lived in a number of different neighborhoods.

In 2010, Steve founded ]The Safety Collective with friends he had made since moving to Hamilton. Chris & Steve shared bass & guitar duties while Campbell provided the beat on the drums. After 2 years and 20 live performances, David joined the band as the primary bass player, while also playing some guitar.

Steve continues to write material specifically for solo performances while also contributing songs to The Safety Collective.

Out of a hundred possible responses Chris Rock could have made - fall to the ground dramatically like a world cup player, scream a barrage of curses, run backstage to arm up, or perhaps even grab a nearby mike stand and try to beat Will Smith to death with it - Rock picked the sole response that allowed him and the Oscar ceremonies to maintain a modicum of dignity! This sums up my feelings exactly. Huge Will Smith fan, always have been (I'm from Philly so I knew of him way back when his rap albums were huge hits, before Bel Air, he & Jazzy Jeff were local folk heroes, so to speak) and he's always had the reputation of being super nice & kind...I liked Jada, but never really knew much about her before or since the Matrix Sequels...and always been a huge Chris Rock fan way back to Everybody Hates Chris & before. So this was a confluence of strange feelings for me when I saw it. I couldn't and still can't believe it. Now I feel sympathy for Will knowing a bit more about Jada (much like Amber Heard & Johnny Depp - Team Johnny BTW). Will is a beaten man (psychologically obviously - maybe even physically, who knows...?) but the way Chris handled it, live, on stage, at the OSCARS (!), in front of ALL of his peers, and televised to the world...he's a class act.
Chris will be fine. Hopefully Will will get out of that marriage of convenience (convenient to Jada, not Will). And hopefully Jada will fade into historical oblivion for having destroyed Will Smith's record of Mr. Nice Guy.

Amazing how not many people, IF ANY AT ALL, are pointing out Jada’s culpability in all this that led up to that slap. In the end of the day, Will Smith is a GROWN ADULT who should’ve KNOWN better and should’ve used much better judgment for how he reacted so his actions that night are all on HIM. However, and this has been mentioned in one or two talk shows after that unfortunate night; no one really knows what’s gone on the the REAL private lives of Will and Jada’s marriage and no one is really acknowledging the emotional poison she has put into their marriage and into their family in general (Jaden Smith tweeting later that evening “And that’s how we do.” Is NOT a good or healthy message to been instilling in youth in the first place); REGARDLESS of how much they presented their private lives as an open book to their fans and the rest of the public, which in itself poses very damaging consequences so I really don’t know what the hell they were expecting after airing out all of their dirty laundry for ALL to see. Jada is NOT the least bit innocent in all of this.
