They have done a cover of AC/DC's Back In Black.
Formed in 1999, Steriogram got their name from two bands that members had previously performed with - Rogergram and Steriosugar.
Steriogram's first single release, Soccerstar was mediocre but upon the release of their second single, White Trash saw the group success soar. Like many bands, Steriogram toured New Zealand in a friend's van without any support crew, doing gigs where they could. In 2002, still unsigned, they joined several other New Zealand bands in the annual Boost Mobile School's Tour, playing for free during high school lunch hours to get exposure, as well as at bars at night.
In 2002, while recording at a rented beach house they were spotted by an American Label Scout for Capitol Records who had come upon their music video for White Trash on the internet and were signed to Capitol Records later that year.
2004 also saw the release of their debut album, Schmack! which has seen six singles released from it.
There were two main factors contributing to Steriogram’s immediate success. Firstly, the national secondary school tour they went on helped to generate a wider fan base, as it allowed many who hadn’t heard of Steriogram before to enjoy their unique sound. The other factor was due to their internet site and the use of fans' loyalty. On the site fans were able to join up for the band’s newsletter and then eventually to what was known as a 'fan street pack'. This was sent to the fan via mail and contained promo CDs that had five of the tracks to be featured on their upcoming CD, and large amounts of stickers. This was where Steriogram relied on the support of fans, to hand out the promo CDs and stickers. These points proved to be very successful and rewarding for Steriogram as a new band.

Planets in the same room
Sentimental girls
All of which had fame too
Already gone
Oh but they can't leave you
Fight their clinging on
Fight but they can't be you
Do you know what it is
Makes you say those thinks
Or why you have a problem
With what we bring
Oh I'm sorry we believe in more
Than just luck
It's not meant to offend you
Just for us
We know that you gotta feel important
But it's a shame that your ignorance
Is all you're flaunting
Your insecurities out
When you say we got no shot
Met thousands like you
And we know they won't stop
What if I would wind it up
What if I could wind it up
What if I should wind it up
What if I could
Do you know a damn thing
About what you are saying
You think you're in control
But your gigs about to fold
Your insecurities out
When you say we got no shot
Met thousands like you
And we know they won't stop
We don't mind 'cause we know
What we're searching for
It's the time in our life we've been working for
We don't feel elite when we're doing this
Anyone can do it if you just take a risk
It's not just us that you're talking down to
I've heard you say the same
To everyone around you
What if I would wind it up
What if I could wind it up
What if I should
Now I'll tell you Mr. Know-it-all
What you can do with all your worldly knowledge
You can take your business
And opinions
And your mushrooms
And shove it up your..
All this time they're wasting my rhymes
What if I would wind it up
What if I could wind it up
What if I should wind it up
What if I could
Do you know a damn thing
About what you are saying
You think you're in control
But your gigs about to fold
The Steriogram's song Wind It Up is about standing up against naysayers who bring people down, despite all their hard work and efforts. The lyrics speak about people who have achieved fame but are stuck in that same world, while the band is moving forward and exploring new possibilities. The band expresses their frustration towards people who don't understand their music and don't appreciate their efforts. They also mention that no matter how hard people try, they can't be another person, and they should stop trying to emulate someone else's success. The band acknowledges the hard work and risks they have taken to get where they are and that it's not just them, but anyone who can achieve greatness if they take a chance. The song ends with the band telling Mr. Know-it-all to take his opinions and shove it up his...
In a nutshell, the song talks about not giving up and standing up against the odds, working hard towards a goal, and not listening to negative opinions that try to bring one down.
