I lay in the fields
Watching you arise the dead in me
Everyone’s looking for something.
Across the ground, scattered with the bones of past psalms and revolutions and the old, worn faith your father lent you.
Everyone is singing a song. And it’s always about the same thing. Love lost, love found, that great open space between heaven and earth.
Forget the proselytism, forget the harsh edges of the letter of the law. There’s someone up there, and He is like water and fire, deep with grace and mystery.
These are not songs of a preacher. They’re not ballads to lilting love. These are just alms to that old, worn faith. Skin for the skeleton. The sound of someone looking for a resurrection. From the opening throes of ‘Hallelujah’ to the closing refrain of ‘Resurrection Song’, Water and Fire is the sound of someone who travels with dust on his feet, connected to the earth, but eyeing heaven.
Everyone’s looking for something. Sometimes it is home. Sometimes it’s that long lost love. Sometimes it’s God.
Most times it is all of these.
This is my resurrection song,
Written in the only ink I own.
mountain

Every shadow removed in the light
Every ending starts with a story
Every child with the seed of life
Dawning is the mountain
Dawning is the mountain of
Dawning is the mountain
Every fortress falls in the war
And only blood is drawn by the sword
Every hollow filled with... your presence
And every child is a child of God
Dawning is the mountain
Dawning is the mountain of
Dawning is the mountain
Of The Lord
We await your love like a thief in the night
We await your power for the souls of light
We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
We await your love from heaven's stairs
Where the angels and cherubim all do declare
We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
We await your love like a thief in the night
We await your power for the souls of light
We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
We await your love from heaven's stairs
Where the angels and cherubim all do declare
We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
The song "Mountain" by Strahan is a powerful and inspiring anthem about hope and faith in the face of adversity. The lyrics are full of metaphors and symbols that convey the idea that no matter how difficult the journey or how steep the climb, there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
The first verse speaks of the promise of a new day, where all darkness is banished, and every ending marks the start of a new story. The second verse talks of the inevitable struggles we face in life, how every fortress eventually falls, and how it is only through the grace of God that we find the strength to persevere. The chorus emphasizes that the dawning of a new day is like a mountain, symbolic of the challenges we face and the hope that we will conquer them. The bridge speaks of waiting for the promise of God's love and power, singing hallelujah in anticipation of its arrival.
The song is an uplifting and hopeful message to anyone facing hardship, reminding them that every new day brings the promise of a fresh start, and that with faith and perseverance, every mountain can be climbed.
