Stromkern Lyrics

In time, it all becomes a picture in my mind
Can't tell you if I've prayed
For the final time
In the moments that you learn how to turn in the blinded eye
And now you're fighting for a chance to stay alive
Don't think for a moment this distracts me
Six months to the day that you attacked me
You keep it finite or you keep it inside
You finally let it out and let the voices decide for you
You watched the city burning to the ground
You pick up speed, you're flying faster
But now you're rising far, so far above the clouds
But you still can't conceive of the disaster
You never knew what you're still here fighting for
Tried to run but you didn't get far
The whole creation and there's nothing to find
Nothing else to fear but your mind
Recycle - reminders
No intelligence, no connection to a
Trace hidden, now I've given into correlate
So the broadcast can begin
Decipher - you'll find her out
This final resolution for a
Country I'd rather leave than
Then give it back to a world that inspired me
You can't see where your destiny's leading
Because you're too in tune with all the things you believe
You can't imagine any other way to live
You can't begin to imagine the alternative
In the absence and the barrowing
You start to rise above this anti-everything
What side are you on?
What else have you condoned?
What makes a day complete now?
What forces us to concede now?

No intelligence, no connection to a
Trace hidden, now I've given into correlate
So the broadcast can begin
Decipher - you'll find her out
One final resolution for a
Country I'd rather leave than
Then give it back to a world that inspired me
"It is a good viewpoint to see the world as a dream. When you have something like a nightmare, you will wake up and tell yourself that it was only a dream. It is said that the world we live in is not a bit different from this."
The song "Reminders" by Stromkern deals with themes of war, government oppression, and the personal toll of violence. The opening lines reference the war in Iraq, specifically the American military intervention and its impact on the Iraqi people. The lyrics question the decision to go to war and the use of force as a means of resolving conflict.
The song also discusses the psychological impact of violence and trauma. The verses speak to the difficulty of processing and coping with violent experiences, both on a personal level and on a larger societal scale. The chorus emphasizes the repetition of violence, the way that it is cyclical and ongoing, and the need to consciously recognize and break the cycle.
The final lines of the song quote a zen proverb, suggesting that the world we live in may not be fundamentally different from a dream or a nightmare. This serves as a commentary on the cyclical and often senseless nature of violence and war, and the way that humanity is trapped in a cycle of history that seems to repeat itself endlessly.
