Lifted
Suicide Silence猀 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Inside, inside your head you're wasting away.
Away right in front of my eyes,
You're scared, so weary and worn the fuck out.
The addictions made you so sick, so sick and filthy.
Poison.

Your burden is life.
It's made you weak and,
Shake in the knees.
Your burden is life.
It's made you weak and,
Shake in the knees.

Inside, inside your head you're wasting away.
Away right in front of my eyes,
So get lifted.
Dependent on this artificial, feeling.
Poison.

It's made you weak and,
Shake in the knees.
This is not your reality.
This is not your reality
This is not your reality.
This is not you.

It's made you weak and,
Shake in the knees.

This is not your reality.
This is not your reality.
This is not your reality.
This is not your reality.
This is not,
This is not you.
This is not your reality.
This is not,

This is not you.
This is not your reality.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics for Suicide Silence's song "Lifted" describe a person who is struggling with addiction and the toll it has taken on their physical and mental health. The first two lines of the song state "Inside, inside your head you're wasting away, away right in front of my eyes." This paints a picture of someone who is deteriorating mentally, and the people around them can see it happening but feel powerless to help. The lines "You're scared, so weary and worn the fuck out" further emphasize the toll this addiction has taken on the person's physical and mental wellbeing.

The chorus of the song repeats the line "Your burden is life, it's made you weak and shake in the knees." This line conveys the idea that the addiction has become a heavy weight that the person is carrying around, causing them to feel weak and unstable. The line "Dependent on this artificial feeling" suggests that the addiction has become a substitute for something missing in the person's life, but it is ultimately a destructive force.

The final lines of the song "This is not your reality, this is not you" convey the idea that the person has lost sight of who they truly are because of the addiction. The addiction has become their reality, but it is not who they are at their core.

Overall, the lyrics for "Lifted" paint a bleak picture of the devastating effects of addiction on a person's physical and mental health.

I give this 10. I decided to watch this movie based mostly on comments by Alex Carrera and I am truly thankful for the recommendation. I am down a box of tissues but it was so very worth it. This film is beautiful and full of all the emotions. There is love, anger, joy, sadness, and an ending I never saw coming.
