The band's story starts from a little town (Thiene) in the Vicenza province, in 1997. After playing hundreds of concerts and being present at the main national alternative festivals, the band publishes three albums and is chosen as the supporter of the last OFFSPRING European tour. Is there someone who's directing this world?
Hey Hey did you see who has planted me out here?
All around my petals there are a thousand lives
Hey Hey the sun is watching me all the day long
And I don't really know
Why I have to be here
But maybe Miss moon Knows about it
Hey hey did you see all those ones flying up here?
All upon my stems I feel there are a thousand lives
Hey Hey I can't fly like they do all the day long
And I don't really know why there are all these differences
I really wanna know
Sure the stars are gonna help me one more time
I'm stuck here
And I feel so coarse inside
I'd love to find out the meaning of this being
Is there someone who knows?
Is there someone who's directing this world?
Hey Hey did you ever feel the light inside?
Yeah That one teaching you more than your own life
Day by day I'm seeing the signs arrive
And they've always been nearby
Yeah nearby to all our confusions
Yeah and this may also be on all our long black days
I'm stuck here
But I feel
I'm happy inside
I'm finding out the meaning we have in our different beings
Is there someone who knows?
Is there someone who's directing this world?
The song "Enigma" by Sun Eats Hours speaks of an existential crisis and the search for meaning in life. The lyrics are very poetic and use metaphors to describe the feelings of the singer. The opening line "Is there someone who's directing this world?" sets the tone for the song and raises the question of whether there is a higher power controlling the universe. The singer then looks at the world around them and sees the beauty and complexity of nature, asking if there is a purpose to it all.
The second half of the song sees the singer searching within themselves for answers. They speak of feeling stuck and coarse inside, but also finding happiness in the search for meaning. The lines "I'm finding out the meaning we have in our different beings" suggests that the singer believes that every person has a unique purpose and that it is up to them to find it. The song ends with a repetition of the opening lines, leaving the question of whether there is someone who knows or if the search for meaning will continue.
Overall, the lyrics of "Enigma" are insightful and thought-provoking. They encourage the listener to question their place in the world and to search within themselves for answers.
