After their first album had been published, the permanent members of the group adapted a part of the material for live performances and performed at a few concerts; however, this has not become their main focus, mostly because of impossible logistics and work on other projects. So the group is still mostly involved in studio work, writing original music and arrangements. Until today, SUR has signed soundtracks for eleven theatre performances (2002 - Sebastjan Starič: Lust; 2003 - Borut Bučinel: Who Draws Me; 2003 - Branko Potočan: On Our Own Land; 2003 - Nick Pickard & Gareth Boylan: Monolads; 2004 - Boris Kobal: The House of Bernarda Alba; 2004 - Sebastjan Starič: Pepperoncino; 2005 - Tomaž Štrucl: Che Guevara; 2006 - Dušan Teropšič: Dimwits; 2008 - Jure Rudolf: Where Do You Live?; 2008 - Dušan Teropšič: An Event in the City; 2008 - Borut Bučinel: Lullaby of Death) and a short film (2003 - Marko Horvat: Happiness on Sale).
Recently the SUR collective has published an EP entitled 'Kadar mesto spi / When the City Sleeps', featuring the singles recorded and released in 2008 and 2009.
Slovenian press imaginatively characterised the music of SUR as "ambiental-rock-jazz-electronica". This may even be quite accurate, especially of the first record, though the members of SUR like to call themselves "alternative ambient anarchistic hippie progressive psychedelic metal-munching jazzy trip hoppy funky beer drinkers and spritzer aficionadoes"...
The full-time members of SUR are: Neža Trobec Teropšič – vocals, Monika Fritz – backing vocals and lyrics, Jure Praper – guitar, Aljaž Tulimirović – guitar, Samo Pečar – bass and Borut Praper – drums, keyboards, programming, lyrics.
Guest musicians and contributors on the first two albums and frequent collaborators in the other projects of the SUR collective include: Marko Djukić (lyrics, vocals), Rok Predin (lyrics, vocals, acoustic guitar), Dušan Rebolj (lyrics, vocals, acoustic guitar), Matevž Šalehar (vocals), Vasko Atanasovski (saxophone, flute), Stojan Kralj (bass, fretless bass, guitar), Andrej Hrvatin (percussion), Janez Vouk (trumpet), Marko Zorec (guitar), Jelena Ždrale (violin, viola), Nino de Gleria (cello) and Tomaž Štrucl (additional vocals and beer-side battle plans).
The name SUR may mean many things, but its members like to tell people it is actually an acronym for "samostalna ugostiteljska radnja" – "independent catering service"... Which is also the name of the studio where the group ponders its masterpieces.

Strange

Well you look so strange
These things never change
In the darkest days
Don’t like what you can’t see in the oddest ways
Nothing you can do, your not the boss man
Just another fool, in a cage in a coffin
Finding love in the bottom of a glass
Well you look so strange
This mirror is a window
Looking into the soul of this weirdo
And I don’t know if you’ll like what’s inside
All I know is my reflection is a vibe
Feel like I’m going high
Feel like I’ll go inside
Feel like I’ll go and hide
Feel like I’m going high
Feel like I’ll go inside
Feel like I’ll go and hide
I’m sitting in pools chiiling with God
Shooting the shit with the stars
Making the plan, making the mark
That was it in my head
I struggle with them in the dark
Living with all of these scars
So I can give you all my heart
It’s so bizarre
Fast track
Starting to feel the backlash
Smoking up the Dad Grass
Coasting on the coast with my hat back
I’m feeling so bad that I’ve been vexed in these ways
Living life like it’s my last day
Well you look so strange
This mirror is a window
Looking into the soul of this weirdo
And I don’t know if you’ll like what’s inside
All I know is my reflection is a vibe
Feel like I’m going high
Feel like I’ll go inside
Feel like I’ll go and hide
Feel like I’m going high
Feel like I’ll go inside
Feel like I’ll go and hide
There’s a fine line to the end
Don’t fret
My frequency is so high
Feeling it going high
My frequency is so high
Feeling it going high
Well you look so strange
This mirror is a window
Looking into the soul of this weirdo
And I don’t know if you’ll like what’s inside
All I know is my reflection is a vibe
In "Strange," Sur reflects on the feelings of being an outsider and struggling to find acceptance. The lyrics suggest that the singer has felt this way for a long time, and that it may be difficult for others to truly understand them. The line "These things never change" implies that the singer has been feeling strange for a while and that they don't know how to change it. The imagery of a mirror being a window, looking into the soul of a weirdo, highlights the singer's self-awareness and introspection. The phrase "I struggle with them in the dark/Living with all of these scars/So I can give you all my heart" suggests that the singer has overcome some significant emotional struggles in order to be vulnerable enough to connect with others. The repeated refrain "Feel like I'm going high/Feel like I'll go inside/Feel like I'll go and hide" highlights the singer's uncertainty and ambivalence.
Overall, the song seems to be about the experience of being an outsider and trying to connect with others despite feeling strange and different. The singer expresses a desire for love and connection but also acknowledges the challenges they face in getting there. Ultimately, the song seems to be about embracing one's inner weirdness and finding a way to be at peace with it, even if it means feeling like an outsider.

Me frequency's so high like a kaleidoscope
collidin' with my bride I hope my eyes never succumb to the devices that I finally chose.
Without you baby I'm a whisper in the dark.
Bedding me in my sweet dreams. Fields of daisies flow from beneath thee.
