Also, Merida is not Disney, is Pixar, but she is included, and Anna & Elsa are Disney, but they are not included in the franchise because they both sales a lot of merchandise alone.... so... its tricky.

It is questionable why they still leave her out of the Disney Princess line. I mean, I get why they did it in the first place given that the Hercules movie didn't turn out so well at the box office during its initial run. So Disney didn't saw reason to include her in the lineup given that the movie she was in wasn't a financial hit at the time. However, years have passed and Hercules did garner a cult following with many fans loving the movie and its characters, so I'm not sure why Disney didn't try to profit from this by marketing Megara as a Disney Princess. She does fit most of the criteria for one.

Some context: the backup singers are Laura Osnes (OBC Cinderella), Courtney Reed (OBC Princess Jasmine), Benjamin Rauhala (music director/coordinates shows at 54 Below), and Adam J. Levy (Pomatter in the Waitress tour). Susan chose them because the five of them do a touring concert called the Broadway Princess Party together and sing backup to each other. They had to cancel all of their upcoming shows, so Susan invited them to sing backup for her on this.

There was another song that was supposed to be in the movie instead of “I won’t say I’m in love”. It’s called “I can’t believe my heart” and honestly I loved it! The producers felt that it was too romantic and didn’t fit Meg so they replaced it with this song. But it’s pretty darn good (:

My guess is that she was probably too expensive. Voice acting is one thing but singing probably involves more contracts and money/ royalties to settle for each song.

@DragonBat362 you’re right about that. More than likely it was CN fault rather than the writers because they wanted the show non sequential thus not giving much space for rose to be in more episodes than she is meaning less singing time :/.
