In a happy home, I was a king I had a golden throne
Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall
I hear the sounds from the places where I was born
Up on the hill across the blue lake
That's where I had my first heartbreak
I still remember how it all changed
Don't you worry, don't you worry child
See heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry now, yeah
Don't you worry, don't you worry child
See heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry now, yeah
There was a time, I met a girl of a different kind
We ruled the world,
Thought I'll never lose her out of sight
We were so young
I think of her now and then
I still hear the songs, reminding me of a friend
Up on the hill across the blue lake
That's where I had my first heartbreak
I still remember how it all changed
My father said
Don't you worry, don't you worry child
See heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry now, yeah
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
See heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry child
See heaven's got a plan for you
Don't you worry, don't you worry now, yeah
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, yeah
The lyrics of Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" are about the passage of time and the way that life changes as we grow older. The song tells the story of a child who used to look up to his father, feeling like a king in his own home. However, as time passed, those days are gone and all that remains are memories. The child reflects on the places and sounds from his childhood that are now just memories on the wall.
The song goes on to describe a time when the child experienced his first heartbreak, on a hill overlooking a blue lake. The child meets a girl of a different kind and they rule the world together. However, as they grow up, they lose touch and the girl becomes a distant memory. Nevertheless, the child's father tells him not to worry and assures him that heaven has a plan for him.
Overall, the lyrics of "Don't You Worry Child" convey a message of hope and resilience. The child has experienced heartbreak and loss, but his father's words remind him that there is still a plan for him, and that he should trust in the future.

Played the acoustic version of this song at my dad’s funeral nearly 8 years ago.... The night before he died, he told me in his exact words (not even knowing about this song) “Don’t you worry about me, God has it all planned out for me in Heaven, it’s all going to be okay.” And I had no idea that was going to be the last time I’d see him alive. So with those last words, I hear this song and I hear his voice each time I hear it.
