This "group" was formed when Robert Fripp approached David Sylvian in 1991 with a view to have him join a reformed King Crimson. Sylvian eventually declined but the pair decided to collaborate on a new project instead, augmented by Trey Gunn, Jerry Marotta and Pat Mastelotto. They released two albums (one studio, one live) and two singles before parting ways.

Sylvian's voice is from another world. And Fripp's guitar rains down like a storm.

When writing about Fripp, journalists often make reference to his work for Eno, Bowie and, of course, King Crimson, but they rarely talk about his work with Sylvian. That's a shame. His lead lines here and on his other collabs with Sylvian are gorgeous. It speaks to his flexibility as a creative artist and to Sylvian's great gift for melody.
