Already with their debut “Truth To Promises” (1999 – Noise Records) Andy and his band delivered a strong piece of work which immediately gained the band a lot of attention and fantastic reviews. Andy, guitarist Cédric “Cede” Dupont and bassist Dennis Wohlbold became the creative core of the band, producing razor-sharp riffs and catchy melodies as if there was no tomorrow. Following a tour supporting MERCYFUL FATE, the band released their sophomore album “Sinctuary” (2000 – Noise Records), which managed to spread the name SYMPHORCE even further. Both fans and press hailed SYMPHORCE as one of the most promising and hopeful bands of the future, and they were right… The last few line-up problems were solved when guitarist/songwriter Markus Pohl and drummer Sascha Sauer joined the band. After playing a number of shows and festivals, the band devoted itself to the creation of new songs.
Now working with Metal Blade as their new partner, SYMPHORCE recorded their following two albums, “phorcefulAhead” (2002) and “Twice Second” (2004) at the House of Music Studios with Achim Köhler (BRAINSTORM, PRIMAL FEAR etc.) producing. “Energetic”, “modern”, “with real bite” are just some of the descriptions that the worldwide press gave the band. Through tours supporting the likes of KAMELOT and GRAVE DIGGER, as well as several festival shows, SYMPHORCE established themselves as a first-class international live act. Despite the difficulty of following up the press’ and fans’ favorite “Twice Second”, SYMPHORCE delivered once again. Everybody, from the last few skeptics to the true “phorceheads”, was equally surprised: “GodSpeed” showcased a band that had become a staple in the music world of 2005. Working with producer Dennis Ward (ANGRA, PINK CREAM 69) at the House of Music Studios, the band created a modern yet timeless album, far beyond the confines of so called power metal. A tour with SONATA ARCTICA and SYMPHORCE’s US live debut followed, making the band a worldwide name. In “Become Death” was released, the sixth album, featuring new drummer Steffen Theurer. Produced by Dennis Ward and mastered by Achim Köhler once again, “Become Death” is a true and unexpected progression for the band.
Across the Plains
Symphorce Lyrics

You're drawn in by the stand, now they're gone
The echoes of laughter and boundless cries
the fear in my mind
In the stream, come closer believe me
reflections, illusions and sins you're swimming against the tide
now turning around
out of sight, out of mind
never deserves you, come on preacher watch my dismay
Across the plains of mystery
Love sustains the infamy
Now caught in the middle of nowhere
No meanings, illusions are gone
A world lies in chaos, no memories
Spiritual lights
Waterfall of tears in the moonlight
Raise your hands to the sun
Free your soul, unchain the memories
step in, one by one
never they came for, building the walls far away
will ever break through,
in castles of sand, what is real true
The lyrics of this song, "Across the Plains" by Symphorce are very intriguing and offer a lot of interpretation. The song talks about how one may look out the window and reminisce about what used to be, where there were echoes of laughter and boundless cries, yet a looming fear that exists within the mind. The listener is taken on a journey where they swim against the tide, overcome their illusions and sins, and eventually come out on the other side. The song brings about a message of hope and strength, even when things seem the darkest.
"Across the Plains" also touches on the themes of love, infamy, and memories. The chorus speaks of how love sustains infamy and how memories can never truly be gone, as they stay in the mind forever. The song also talks about a spiritual awakening or enlightenment, where the dropping of illusions and acceptance of reality allows a waterfall of tears to flow, representing the release of pent-up emotions. The lyrics encourage the listener to raise their hands to the sun and free their soul, one step at a time.
Overall, "Across the Plains" is a song that talks about the human experience of feeling lost, struggling to swim against the tide, but ultimately finding hope and strength to move forward. The themes of love, memories, and spiritual awakening make the song resonate with anyone who has gone through a difficult time but has come out on top.

So when you look out of the windows
As you gaze out of the windows
You're drawn in by the stand, now they're gone
You are captivated by the sight that has now disappeared
The echoes of laughter and boundless cries
The sounds of uncontrolled joy and endless screams
the fear in my mind
The terror that I feel
In the stream, come closer believe me
Come nearer to me in the river, trust in what I say
reflections, illusions and sins you're swimming against the tide
You're struggling against the current of distorted images, delusions and transgressions
now turning around
Now changing my direction
out of sight, out of mind
What's no longer visible is easily forgotten
everyone into, his castles of gold far away...
Each one has retreated to their own distant fortresses of wealth
never deserves you, come on preacher watch my dismay
You don't deserve this, come and see my distress, preacher
Across the plains of mystery
Traversing the enigmatic landscapes
Love sustains the infamy
Love perpetuates the notoriety
Now caught in the middle of nowhere
Now stranded somewhere undefined
No meanings, illusions are gone
No significance attached, illusions have vanished
A world lies in chaos, no memories
A world in disarray with no recollection of the past
Spiritual lights
Mystical illumination
Waterfall of tears in the moonlight
Cascade of tears under the moon's glow
Raise your hands to the sun
Extend your hands to the sun
Free your soul, unchain the memories
Liberate your spirit, release the memories
step in, one by one
Enter, one after the other
never they came for, building the walls far away
They never came to create barriers far off
will ever break through, in castles of sand, what is real true
Can we ever penetrate what's genuinely true in these illusory edifices?
