Merituuli
Synestesia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Huutosi sekä raivosi ja itkusi, ne vain työtäni helpotti.
Pelkää, älä pelkää, enää pelkää, vaan antaudu käsiini,
yhdessä, tästä hetkestä, me löydämme uuden elämän.
Kuinka kaunis onkaan se kuolema,
käy nyt rauhassa lepäämään.
omani aloitan uudestaan.
hiljaa hiuksillasi. Istun hitaasti vierellesi, silitän varovasti
poskeasi ja iäisyyden noita murskattuja kasvojasi
voisin kai tuijottaa.
The lyrics of Synestesia's song "Merituuli" describe a person reassuring their loved one who is passing away. The opening lines "Näetkö, turha pelkosi, turha itkusi, se vain vahvisti minua" mean "Can you see, your useless fears and tears only strengthened me." The singer tells their loved one not to be afraid, that they will find a new life together. They comment on the beauty of death and how the individual's life is coming to an end, but they will begin anew. The singer talks about needing to wash and take care of the individual's body, including their skin, teeth and clothes. The final lines describe the peacefulness of the moment, as the sound of the sea breeze and the waves are heard, and the singer sits with the individual, gently touching their face.
The lyrics of "Merituuli" are deeply emotional, and they capture the pain and sadness of losing a loved one, as well as the hope of new beginnings. The singer is trying to console their loved one, telling them not to be afraid and that they will take care of them, even in death. The beauty of the lyrics is in their simplicity and honesty. The singer expresses their love and devotion for the individual and how they will continue to care for them, even after they have passed away.
