but i didn't want to
and now we are here at the end of something good
and i'm wondering where we missed
and wondering how it came to this
but we did and it did and it's hard to admit
that it's over
it's over
but where do we go from here
and how will we know what not to fear
everything's so unclear
now that we know it's over
cause the grass is always greener
ain't it funny how it goes
i suppose in the end
we'll be friends like you say we should
so i'm closing up this chapter
of this book inside my head
but i never forget cause my only regret is it's over
it's over
but where do we go from here
and how will we know what not to fear
everything's so unclear
now that we know
here i am and there you are
you stand so close but feel so far
away from me but now i see
there's no more room for you and me
it's taking time it's sinking in
i played the game
i didn't win
and so we go
it's over it's over
it's over it's over
it's over it's over it's over
it's done
The lyrics of TJ Moss's song "It's On" deal with the end of a relationship and the confusion and uncertainty that comes with it. The singer acknowledges that they should have seen the end coming but chose not to, now finding themselves at the conclusion of something that was once good. They express their wonder about where they went wrong and how they arrived at this point. The repetition of the phrase "it's over" emphasizes their struggle to come to terms with the end.
The song explores the aftermath of the break-up, questioning what comes next and how to navigate the unknown. The singer contemplates the uncertainty and lack of clarity that now surrounds them. They acknowledge that the grass always seems greener on the other side, highlighting the irony and unpredictability of relationships. Ultimately, they decide to close this chapter of their life, accepting that it's over and that they need to move on.

we should've seen it coming
We should have anticipated the end of our relationship
but i didn't want to
But I chose to ignore the signs
and now we are here at the end of something good
And now we find ourselves at the end of a once positive connection
and i'm wondering where we missed
And I'm reflecting on the point where we went wrong
and wondering how it came to this
And questioning how our relationship reached this point
but we did and it did and it's hard to admit
But we made mistakes and acknowledging them is difficult
that it's over
That our relationship has come to an end
but where do we go from here
But now, what is the next step for us?
and how will we know what not to fear
And how can we learn to distinguish what we shouldn't be afraid of
everything's so unclear
Everything seems uncertain now
now that we know it's over
Now that we have accepted that our relationship is finished
cause the grass is always greener
Because people often believe that what they don't have is better
ain't it funny how it goes
Isn't it ironic how things turn out
i suppose in the end
I guess ultimately
we'll be friends like you say we should
We may end up being friends as you have suggested
so i'm closing up this chapter
So, I'm putting an end to this phase
of this book inside my head
Of the memories and thoughts I have about our relationship
but i never forget cause my only regret is it's over
But I can't forget because the only thing I regret is that it's finished
here i am and there you are
Here I am and there you are
you stand so close but feel so far
We may physically be close, but emotionally distant
away from me but now i see
Separated from each other, but now I understand
there's no more room for you and me
There is no longer space for us in each other's lives
it's taking time it's sinking in
It's going to take time for me to fully comprehend
i played the game
I participated in this relationship
i didn't win
But I didn't come out victorious
and so we go
And so we part ways
it's over it's over
It has ended, it has ended
it's done
It is finished
