She had a face straight outta magazine
God only knows but you'll never leave her
Her balaclava is starting to chafe
When she gets his gun he's begging, babe stay, stay, stay, stay, stay

I'll give him one more time
We'll give you one more fight
Said one more lie
Will I know you

Now if you never shoot, you'll never know
And if you never eat, you'll never grow
You've got a pretty kinda dirty face
When she's leaving your home she's begging you, stay, stay, stay, stay, stay

I'll give you one more time
We'll give you one more fight
Just said one more line
There'll be a riot, 'cause I know you

Well, now that you've got your gun
It's much harder now the police have come
Now shoot him if it's what you're worth
But if you just take off your mask
To find out that everything's gone wrong, wrong, wrong

Now everybody's dead
And they're driving past my old school
And he's got his gun, he's got his suit on

She says, babe, you look so cold, you look so cold, you look so cold
You look so cold, you look so cold, you look so cold

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Robbers" by The 1975 are ripe with ambiguity and multiple interpretations. On one level, the song can be read as a story of a couple on the run, with the male protagonist robbing banks to support their fugitive lifestyle. However, there is an emotional undercurrent to the lyrics that suggests that the true message lies in the turbulence of their relationship. The woman is described as having a face "straight outta magazine," with the implication that she is superficially beautiful but lacks substance. The man is clearly infatuated with her, but there is the sense that their love is doomed from the outset.

The repeated refrain of "stay, stay, stay" suggests a desperation on the part of both parties to keep the relationship alive, even in the face of overwhelming odds. The chorus ("I'll give you one more time/We'll give you one more fight/Just said one more line/There'll be a riot, 'cause I know you") reinforces the idea that the couple is engaged in a constant struggle to stay together. It's unclear who is speaking in the chorus; it could be either the male or female protagonist.

The final verses are the most haunting, as they suggest that the couple's reckless behavior has resulted in tragedy for others. The line "now everybody's dead" is unnerving in its suddenness, and the images of driving past an old school and being cold reinforce the sense of isolation and loss that permeates the song. Overall, "Robbers" is a complex meditation on love and the dark places it can lead us.

"'Robbers' is a love song. It was originally inspired by my love of the Quentin Tarantino film 'True Romance', the story of an Elvis obsessed loner who falls in love and marries a prostitute.
In the movie, the couple run away to California after killing her pimp and stealing his drugs to start a new life financed by once in a lifetime drug deal. It's the sentiment behind the film that appeals to me, the hopelessly romantic notion that two people can meet and instantly fall in love, an escape story where love is the highest law and conquers all against the odds.
Characters like Bonnie and Clyde always appealed to me as a teenager - couples so intoxicated with one another that they fear nothing in the pursuit of the realisation of each other, actions fuelled by blind unconditional love.

'Robbers' is an ode to those relationships. The type of relationship all humans long for. All or nothing.

This video is about when love makes two people feel they are the centre of the universe."

Tracy Lemons if ur referring to the spelling of the word favorite, just know The "ou" is a common British spelling, whereas in American English, we simply use the "o." For example: favourite vs. favorite. colour vs. color.
