Indeed a tragic end for such an ecchi masterpiece. I wish madhouse will pick it up sometime in the feature and make a second season with the material that's left. Or the author's brother can continue it and gives us some much needed material.

The anime that sparked my interest in the anime genre. 11 year old me was blown away that I just wanted to see more shows. Sucks this series will never get a proper conclusion... Had the manga continued, I'm sure it would've been the one other manga I kept up with along with Attack on Titan and Berserk. Thanks Highschool of the Dead. May you rest in peace...

Honestly....looking back, I kinda have to thank this show. Yeah the fanservice can kinda go overboard but I still had a genuine awesome time with it and without it along with Akira and Ghost in the Shell, it wouldn't have resparked my interest in anime and thanks to it, I found ones like Gurren Lagann, Kill La Kill, Assassination Classroom, Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Thunderbolt and Unicorn, Gintama, MHA, Trigun, Fairy Tail, One Punch Man, and so much more.

I agree, even though I was 14 when I watched it and the fanservice was all over the place I still enjoyed it for what it was. The plot - chars- music-art everything was well done. This is why I love apocalyptic anime. If done right it's really an exciting experience.
