Metal, but definitely not death metal. More along the lines of concrete trance-like rock/metal riffs. Chief knew Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy) from a few years on tours such as Death Across America and various tours with Six Feet Under over in Europe.
He and Flo became close friends and soon realized they had alot of the same musical interest outside of death metal. They both were huge fans of bands from Deftones to Radiohead to A Perfect Circle. When Chief and John realized the vibe the new music was creating, Chief immediately thought of Flo and emailed him a few of the rough demo tracks. Flo really liked it and they began working on arrangements to get Flo from Montreal, Quebec to South Carolina to record the drum tracks.
Three weeks later Flo arrived in SC to record a 5 track EP. With drums tracks in hand Chief and John went to their individual home studios and began recording all the guitar, bass, strings, piano and synth parts. Then the singer search was on. After trying a few local guys, Chief and John knew that they needed to look further and harder for the perfect fit.
They headed to the Atlanta area where they heard Michael Rock fronting a tribute band. Chief approached Michael with the new material and ask him to give it a listen. Four days later Mike had written the song Listen To Reason. Michael's lyrics were very intelligent with many voice variations. Temple of Thieves was born.
They've since completed 3 more tracks. All 4 tracks are available for streaming online and purchase download. Temple of Thieves have 10 new songs being written. All material to this point has been mixed, produced and mastered by Chief Spires. Temple of Thieves is seeking a label that will help them with their goal of releasing an entire album.

Part of him is in the gray, the angel's on his way
Giving up for small amounts of pain; your sense, it multiplies
It's reaching out to claim it's rightful grave
Take my hand...
I'll bring you home...
Playing with a cigarette next to the gasoline
Never stopped to pay attention to the common sense direction
Ignorance, gone up with you it seems
Take my hand, take my hand
Oh I'll bring you home...
Take my hand, take my hand
I'll bring you -
Time to bring you in to me
And take away the agony
Resolve you from the dead who would bury you with lies
Faced with all the suffering
Through the door and back again
Pull you from the common and the shit you call 'Your life'
And I'm standing
Right in the open here
And it's freezing
Stealing the life of
All that is breathing
Created order
For things to see
Pleasure
You're just another
Trophy of mine
Take my hand...
I'll bring you home...
Things are never really what they seem
A broken line is on the phone and no one heard his scream
Don't have much to do, sorry
Offer this alternative to you
Take my hand, take my hand
I'll bring you home...
Time to bring you in to me
And take away the agony
Resolve you from the dead who would bury you with lies
Faced with all the suffering
Through the door and back again
Pull you from the common and the shit you call 'Your life'
And I'm standing
Right in the open here
And it's freezing
Stealing the life of
All that is breathing
Created order
For things to see
Pleasure
You're just another
Trophy of mine
God help you die
Alive...
Oh things are never really what they seem
Life into me, it is never ending
And it's dying off, into the misery
And as often as you tell it to me
'Let God help you die'
The lyrics of Temple Of Thieves's "In the Garden" describes the life of someone who is struggling with addiction, and the consequences that come with it. The person is portrayed as being caught in between black and white, suggesting that they cannot choose the right path. Instead, they are living in a gray area where the angels are trying to guide them towards the right direction. However, they continuously give up, and their pain only multiplies.
The song talks about how the person is living on the edge of sanity, trying to find pleasure in things that are harmful to them. They ignore common sense and advice from others, and their ignorance causes them to suffer. The lyrics suggest that the person is buried under lies, suffering, and misery caused by their addiction. The Garden in the title refers to the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve were tempted, sinned, and fell from paradise.
The chorus of the song is an offer of help, with the person singing, "Take my hand, I'll bring you home." It suggests that the person is willing to help, but the addict has to want to be helped. The lyrics also mention the idea of "Let God help you die alive," suggesting that the only way to overcome addiction is to let go of the old self and let God take control.
