That's The Way Love Is
Ten City Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And live and love each other forever
They promise to love a lifetime
Funny thing, then they change their minds
They both go their separate ways
And love is just a memory
But a young heart doesn't stay sad long
Another love soon comes along (that's the way love is)
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
Two people don't get along
Deep down in both have feelings very strong
They try hard to conceal it their hearts burn
'Cause they both know they can feel it (that's the way love is)
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
Lovers leave without reason
Feelings change just like seasons
Love, nothing's for certain
There's no use in pretending
What's behind the curtain
(That's the way love is)
Sometimes it's so fast
(That's the way love is)
Love's feeling ain't no denying
(That's the way love is)
That's the way love is
I'm singing about love
About love
The song "That's the Way Love Is" by Ten City talks about the complexities of love and how it can be both wonderful and painful. The lyrics mention couples who take a vow to love each other forever, but then change their minds and go their separate ways. This highlights the unpredictable nature of love, where something that seems so strong can suddenly dissolve.
The second verse of the song discusses two people who have strong feelings for each other, but try to hide them. Despite their attempts to conceal their feelings, they know that they can feel it. This captures the internal struggle that many individuals face when they are in love with someone they shouldn't be. The chorus repeats the phrase "that's the way love is," emphasizing that love is never straight-forward or predictable.
The bridge of the song acknowledges that lovers can leave without reason and that feelings can change like the seasons. Love is uncertain, and there's no point in pretending otherwise. The song conveys the message that even though love can be painful and unpredictable, it's still worth singing about.
Overall, "That's the Way Love Is" is a reflective song that touches on the ups and downs of love. It offers a realistic perspective on the subject, acknowledging that love is not always easy, but that it's still worth pursuing.
