I think than the video tries to say: "IN FACT the rock is dead, because their best exponents are dead too", but the last scene when the skeleton makes the hand symbol, is a way to say than death isn't an obstacle for the rock music to still "showing up".

The hand symbol was a reference to the late, great, Ronnie James Dio, who passed away from cancer while the D were recording this album. Considering how big a fan the D are of Dio, it was probably considered the last straw before they declared Rock dead. Besides, actual Rock music is dead. The music world belongs to Indie, Pop, and songs designed to be played in clubs for people to dance too. The only real rock bands out now are ones that started before all this shit went downhill. Same with metal bands, with only bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, and other such bands still carrying that torch, while newer bands, like Asking Alexandria, for example, sound terrible, do nothing original, and cater to the mainstream audiences with the kind of generic songs that are usually created in a record company's meeting room to try and market metal to tweens. Hell, even some old artists have lost what made them special and fully conformed to the commercialism of today's music. Ozzy had a reality show and appears in commercials with Bieber, Green Day appears on concerts meant to sell a fucking phone app, most of the newer metal bands do most of their work on fucking "Vans Warped" tours, promoted by Vans, who makes shoes and clothing, and most of their CD's get stocked at Hot Topic. Rock is dead. Metal is dead. Indie is the new Rock, which is terrible and ironic, because nobody realizes that once and Indie band reaches a certain point of popularity, they stop being Indie.
