I turn around and everything has changed
Looking for a way to work it out
I'm trying to find some peace to navigate
The oak tree where I met you
And the writing on the statue
I still remember every word you said
Can you hear me through the silence?
I won't give up 'cause there will be a day
We'll meet again
We'll meet again
Everything we wanted turned to gold (turned to gold)
The path we chose, the future on our side
Never thought I'd do this on my own (on my own)
But now I wield the sword you left behind
The oak tree where I met you
And the writing on the statue
I still remember every word you said
I'm not a soldier but I'm fighting
Can you hear me through the silence?
I won't give up 'cause there will be a day
We'll meet again
We'll meet again
Dark for the sunrise
Clouds for a blue sky
Space for the traveling star
Strong from the inside
You're still my lifeline
I feel you wherever you are
The oak tree where I met you
And the writing on the statue
I still remember every word you said
I'm not a soldier but I'm fighting
Can you hear me through the silence?
I won't give up 'cause there will be a day
We'll meet again
We'll meet again
We'll meet again
TheFatRat & Laura Brehm's "We'll Meet Again" is a song about loss, struggle, and finding hope in difficult situations. The lyrics start by talking about a sudden disappearance or absence of someone, leaving the singer feeling lost and disoriented. They are looking for a way to work it out and find peace, but it's not easy.
The song references an oak tree and a statue, places where the singer has memories of their loved one. They hold onto every word that was said, and though they may not be a soldier, they are fighting through the silence and not giving up hope that they will meet again one day. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the idea of reunion and the importance of holding onto that hope.
The second verse talks about how everything they wanted turned to gold, but now they find themselves doing things on their own. They "wield the sword" their loved one left behind, suggesting that they are carrying on in their absence. The bridge talks about the beauty in both darkness and clouds, and how the singer still feels a connection to their loved one even though they are gone.
Overall, "We'll Meet Again" is a poignant and emotional reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is always hope for a reunion with those we have lost.

Can we just appreciate the background for a second?
For the entire thing there are flies in the bottom left and right corners
The trees wave in the breeze the entire thing
The clouds move slowly across the screen
The girl's hair waves in the breeze
At 0:20 a flock of geese start flying from the top left of the screen
At about 1:33 a dragon starts flying from behind the cliff on the right side of the screen
Tell me if I missed anything

I served in the Army. I was tormented, physically and psychologically abused, to the point of trying to take my own life. I was called worthless and treated worse than dirt in an environment where I was away from friends and family, far away from home and country. The military was supposed to be a band of brothers and sisters but that wasn't the case for me. I gave 110% of my mind, body and soul but it was all for naught.
I was awesome at my job, top of my class, saved others from their depression or from killing themselves, commended for my community service but at the end of the day I was worse than trash. None of that mattered because something as simple as not being able to run. For that alone, I had no worth and no value. A stupid number on a test that had nothing to do with my job.
I'm not a soldier, but I'm fighting. Can you hear me through the silence?
This line resonates with me. Despite my best efforts, the others I helped through their depression, I wasn't treated as a soldier. I was called a waste of tax payers' dollars to my face in front of others multiple times. Humiliated, belittled and looked down upon. I was continuously called worthless and treated with distain. I was lost, alone and felt like there was nothing left. Luckily, I got out and was given a honorable discharge after an investigation was held against my abusers. It took me a long time to recover from that, in some ways I still am.
This song, and ones like it helped me through my recovery. I took my experience and used it to help others out of their torment. I turned my burden into tool to help others.
Thank you for this song.
I am now in a stable point in my life. I have an awesome job where I can support myself and a family. I have a loving fiancé to whom I'll be married to next year.
Thank you
