3) The Androids was a 1980s German band.
1) A rock band from Australia, fronted by guitarist Tim Henwood (originally from The Superjesus) with Matt Tomlinson, Sam Grayson, and Marty Grech. Remembered mostly for their song 'Do It With Madonna', released in 2002, the band experienced moderate success with their self-titled debut album in Australia and the UK. Their second single, 'Here She Comes', released in 2003, also gained attention in the US after featuring on the soundtrack for the third film in the popular 'American Pie' franchise, 'American Wedding.'
After their third single, 'Brand New Life', failed to match the success of the first two, The Androids went on hiatus while Henwood joined the electro-pop band Rogue Traders as lead guitarist. Henwood toured extensively with the band and also helped write material for their third album, 'Better In The Dark'.
In 2006, Henwood revealed he had been writing new songs for The Androids, and in 2007, announced he would be leaving the Rogue Traders to focus on their comeback. In May, the band released 'Whole Lotta Love' as the first single off their sophomore album, which was a moderate success. The band revealed the album would be titled 'Outta Ya Mind' and in April they toured nationally with P!nk during the Australian leg of her 'I'm Not Dead' tour.
A second single, rumored to be '2 Cool For School', was slated for release but was ultimately shelved and the album also delayed, although there was no official word from the band as to why. Eventually the album became available to purchase digitally and a physical release followed a few months later.
The band is now assumed to have split up, with no activity from them since late 2007.
2) A Belfast punk rock band who recorded “Bondage In Belfast” for Terry Hooley’s Good Vibrations label.
3) The Androids was a 1980s German band.
Hey You!
The Androids Lyrics

And I eat my cookies and I sip on my warm tea
I'm never ever, ever, ever gonna make it
Never ever, ever, ever gonna shake it
If I get the guts to say hello she'll say to me
"I think ya kinda cool
But I don't think of you like that"
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
I don't like to stand in crowds, I feel all out of place
And I go to the corner store, supermarkets make me sweat
I'm never ever, ever, ever gonna make it
Never ever, ever, ever gonna shake it
That check-out chick has got a flirty pout but if I ask her out
"I think ya kinda cool
But I don't think of you like that"
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
She says
"I'd love to chat but he's with me
Any other time would be fine you'd see
Leave me alone if you don't I'll scream"
I spend most every night just me and my TV
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
Hey you, I'm getting through it
Yeah you, you never should have done it
Hey you
Yeah you
Hey you
Yeah you
The Androids' "Hey You!" is an anthem for anyone who has ever felt socially awkward or uncertain in their romantic pursuits. The song tells the story of a person who spends most of their time alone with their TV and tea, feeling defeated before even trying to approach someone they like. The singer is plagued with self-doubt and insecurities that prevent them from feeling confident enough to make a move. Even when they find someone they are interested in, they are met with rejection or unrequited love. However, the song's repeated chorus "Hey you, I'm getting through it, Yeah you, you never should have done it" suggests that despite the difficulties faced, the singer is keeping their head high, moving forward and finding strength to endure their hardships.
The lyrics are relatable and draw attention to the societal norms around being outgoing and confident. Society sometimes puts pressure on individuals to be able to approach people easily in social situations, and this song speaks to those who find this intimidating or difficult. The lyrics of the song highlight the emotional struggle of someone who is not in the "popular" group or comfortable in social situations, and the song's message is ultimately optimistic, as the singer remains resilient despite the setbacks.
