Memories Of Love And Misery
The Asbestos Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Remembering the smell of your hair
My weight pressed your waist
Hummingbird thinking creature
That confuses the lips with sweet

If this is what we got
I got better plans
I love you love you, now I take back
Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?
Love you love you, now I take back
Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?
What we got
I got better plans

Bad girls are good in these games
Theyll mess your head until you learn how to play

If this is what we got
I got better plans

I love you love you, now I take back
Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?
Love you love you, now I take back
Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?
What we got
I got better plans

Growing ivy in my head
So much time I rooted you
But this is time for me to cut you down
And Ill say to you
What you said to me
If this is what we got
I got better plans

I love you love you, now I take back
Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?
Love you love you, now I take back
Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?

Love you love you, now I take back
Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Memories Of Love And Misery" by The Asbestos tell a story of a relationship that has come to its end. The singer reminisces about the sweet moments they shared with their lover, including the smell of their hair and the feeling of their weight pressed against their waist. However, it becomes clear that the relationship was not healthy as the singer references "bad girls" who are good at playing games and messing with their head. The singer realizes that they have "better plans" than to stay in this relationship.

The chorus repeats the phrase "I love you love you, now I take back / Have you ever thought I would give in so fast?" which implies that the singer gave into their lover's needs or demands quickly before. However, they now have "better plans" and are ready to move on from this relationship. The bridge section talks about the "growing ivy" in the singer's head, which represents their thoughts and emotions taking root around their lover. But now it's time for the singer to cut that person out of their life.

Overall, the song is a representation of the ups and downs of a toxic relationship, highlighting the feeling of being trapped and the difficulty of leaving someone you love but is not good for you.
