Oh oh oh, look at what we've all tried not to become:
Oh oh no, take another glance and remember we're the ones
Setting you up to take our fall.
You are the so-called weak and reckless.
Waiting for the next big explosion,
No matter if it's wrong or right.
If we let you have this,
You'll be the first to destroy, be the first to destroy it.

Another fabricated self-portrait.
Oh oh no, take another glance and remember we're the ones
Setting you up to take our fall.
The simple ways we roll our eyes
Are exactly how we disguise our secrets.
You know you need this.

The Audition's song "You've Made Me Conscious" is a critique of those who preach and teach morality to others, claiming to be leaders and examples to follow, but who actually hide their own flaws and insecurities. The song's lyrics declare that even though these individuals claim to know what is right, they can be just as susceptible to mistakes and flaws as anyone else. The chorus warns of the danger of becoming a "fabricated self-portrait," and how those in a position of power must be wary of setting up others for a fall.
The lyrics also address the idea that those who are often considered "weak and reckless" are not necessarily deserving of this label. Those who are forced to wait and watch as those in power make decisions for them may be just as capable of leading and contributing to society in their own way. The song points out that giving power to those who have traditionally been marginalized can sometimes be the right choice, as they may have a better understanding of the needs and challenges faced by their communities.
In summary, "You've Made Me Conscious" is a call to be honest and vulnerable about our own flaws while recognizing the potential power dynamics at play when leaders take on the responsibility of guiding others.

The early 00's were great times. The clothing, the music, people were higher quality, the magazines, the tv, the movies, the optimism in the air, and the video games...2005 was the last decent year.
The later 2000's were okay/decent SOMETIMES, but I would take them again over today's ruined/no fun woke culture were everything kinda sucks and lacks creativity.
