I thought about doing the same thing when I bought a gun. Almost did. The person I was living with at the time found out because I told someone ŵho then went on to tell a dozen other people and then went on to tell the person I was living with. From that point on there was constant arguing about why do I need it no matter what I fucking said they were always right. So I moved out 2 months after they found out
I had to learn the fucking hard way that people just can't know you have it otherwise there is gonna be a fucking problem.

@Damg Would be more a criticism of shooters in general, not the pistol itself. If you're that hyperfocused, it's a good idea to reestablish what the scene was trying to convey and the message behind the episode in order to avoid getting a narrow view on the subject. Was it that revolvers in general are dangerous, or that ignorant people tend to love guns, and not know how they work, hence becoming a safety issue to everyone around them. Hence, the NRA. You know, the good ol' patriotic folks who supported disarming Civil Rights groups who were being murdered by cops in the 60's. Funny how that works, you know, saying you are against tyranny and then going to kill minorities in their own beds. It'd be odd if that were a problem happening to this day.

Like, the writers don't nail everything and I disagree with their message, but you're assuming that there even was a safety despite Homer not engaging it. It's losing the point because of a failure to further reexamine the material. Instead of seeing the political and societal commentary and addressing it, you ascribe it to 'this particular gun type bad' which is, by any account, not what the episode was saying.

Like, mate, when you read 'bloodbath and beyond', did you think it was a joke about how some stores have quirky names, or was it a critique about gun stores in general and how they stand to profit off of fear and violence?
