She's the One
The Chartbusters Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

One, two, three, go

She's the one
Don't let her get away
She's the one
Believe me when I say

She stole my love
And now she's gotta pay

She's the one
I'd like to let her go
She's the one
Cause I ought to know

She stole my love
And now she's gotta pay

It's not right
For her to run around
She took my love and
Stomped it to the ground, woo

She's the one
Who stole my love from me
She's the one
But I won't set her free

She stole my love
And now she's gotta pay

It's not right
For her to run around
She took my love and
Stomped it to the ground, woo

She's the one
Who stole my love from me
She's the one
But I won't set her free

She stole my love
And now she's gotta pay

One more time

She's the one
Who stole my love from me
She's the one
And I won't set her free

She stole my love
And now she's gotta pay

One of the greatest songs of the 60's that should have been much more popular than it was - heard it on WLS growing up in Chicago :)

@Thomas-qr3zv

I grew up in New Jersey but at night I could hear WLS , which is why I remember this Beatles inspired song

@fazbell

Good memory from 1964. I had totally forgotten this group and this song.

@jamiesalyer

One of my favorite groups of all time. I saw them in Montgomery, Alabama in 1964. They did three songs - She's The One, Why, & the cover "I Should Have Known Better" by the Beatles. You just don't forget great times like those.

Vernon is my Grandfather and we're getting ready for a big 80th celebration for them. I'm working on a memory video of his career and his family and hearing these old songs just brings to life the man my Grandpa was/is.

This was a massive club hit on the British rock and roll scene, circa mid 90's, for a scene that started just playing pure rockabilly and early rock n roll a good number of the Dj's pushed the scene in different directions and a lot found great sounding dance records such as this into the mid 60's, such bands as The Sonics and The Wailers also got very popular. This tune never fails to give me goosebumps and I love reading the comments section for the stories of people meeting the band's members, thanks for your comments

These guys and the Knickerbockers got the closest to the Mersey sound with their one hit wonders. Great song!

@stephengorin2685

On YouTube somewhere is a tape someone painstakingly put together. It is sections from various Beatles performances "performing" "Lies" by the Knickerbockers. Well worth a view.

@jacka123100

One of my favorite songs from the early 60's.  So fun to dance to.  Yes, we danced back then, lol.
