The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra [feat. Nic Raine] Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What's it all about, this crazy love
How did our two worlds entwine
How do I fit in to your life
How did you get into mine
I belong to someone else we know

Back when first we met
Oh, we thought for fun
One night together might be nice
Oh oh but fun turned into love for both of us
So now we pay forbidden lover's price

Oh, 'cause love like ours is never, ever free (free)
You pay some agony for the ecstasy (for the ecstasy)
Oh, love like ours is never, ever free (free)
You got to pay some agony for the ecstasy (for the ecstasy), oh oh

Nights when you're alone, you know that I
Laid with someone else beside me
Oh, but you love me still and I love you
You know I would no matter where I'd be

Hey, but love like ours is never, ever free (free)
You got to pay some agony for the ecstasy (for the ecstasy)
Oh, love like ours is never, ever free (free)
We got to pay some agony if we wanna have ecstasy (for the ecstasy), oh
Hey, got to pay some agony
If we wanna have an ecstasy, yeah eah
And we need each other desperately, don't we, baby
And I'll never from you be free, no, no
So you'll have to do the leavin' me, yeah
And you'll have to do the leavin' me, oh, baby
'Cause I'm gonna pay the agony, yeah
'Cause, oh, lovin' you is ecstasy, that's what it is
And I'm willin' to pay the price, oh
'Cause I'll make it a sacrifice, oh, yes, I will

And I'll never, never, never, never, never, never, never be free
From agony

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Star Trek II's Raine song are about a forbidden love between two people who belong to someone else. The song is about the agony and ecstasy that come with forbidden love. The singer is questioning how they got into this situation and how they fit into each other's lives. They acknowledge that love like theirs is never free and that they have to pay a price for the ecstasy they get from being together. They know that their love is difficult and that they have to pay an agony for the ecstasy they share. Even when they are with someone else, they think of each other and would be willing to sacrifice for their love.

This is for you dad. Many happy memories of listening to it in your car. It inspired me to travel for a while to New Zealand too. You may be gone now but I will always think of you when this is played. Such a powerful, fantastic piece of music.

@AlienMidget123

I truly love how the drums kick in a 4.00. Really gives the music power and gives that feeling of travelling, moving on, it's almost like a "this isn't over". One of the best pieces of music I have ever heard

@commenting_otter

Well that is what it meant in the movie, the journey wasn’t over :)

@hvalrosshelvete

The whole universe and everything that is included to JRR and his quality work makes for a whole different experience when thinking about it. It goes far beyond anything that i can explain, its just so overwelming, its so beautiful. When i think about the stories, its like its more then just a story, it feels like it actually happened, a long time ago, its so epic and incredible. So when i hear this song, i picture all the scenes, the atmosphere, everything, life itself. Thanks for posting;)

@user-lb1mi3wf4t

i don't think there will ever be another series as epic, impactful, or as well made as lotr, i've always been a huge fan of this trilogy and i always will be!!!

@killeroforce

As much as I love the original soundtrack that was composed by Howard Shore, I really believe that the Prague Philharmonic did a much better job for some reason. The way they recorded it sounds so much more crisp and has a lot more umph to it. It sounds much more uplifting. This is a golden piece of music.

@Wheelchairdude101

omg this is amazing... i was having a really bad day and was angry at everyone, but after this experience i can no longer be angry! Great music!!!

@MrSpitzname

Wow, this is pretty damn epic. I just love the power of the whole thing. Just amazing.

@tywilliamnash5078

This is the BEST, very beautiful, very emotionally moving.

@Arakon754

Has anyone ever watched the Lord of the Rings series and ever wished that it was real? That they could live it? Watching the movies and listening to this piece of music makes me wish I could. Why can't fantasies be realities?
