You've Changed
The Crimson Armada Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'll be the one
Who will stand with the wolves
When you sell me for blood
I'll still be standing
Waiting to pull you through.

I've heard enough of this. I've heard enough
I'm sick of watching people trading friends for their lusts
I've heard enough of this. I've heard enough
It's clear that you've changed
So I'll cut right to the chase.

Keep asking why I can't trust anyone
but you'll never understand
If I had to count the people I count on
I'd have to cut off both my hands.

Compassion's hard to come by
Can you ask God if he'll spare a tear?
You'll find as much heart in the way of the truth
as you find life in the flesh of steel
Collect my heart like an artifact
You treasure what is clearly trash
Despite the path we've paved
You've sold me and you both just to further your name.

I think I've had about as much as I can
The slander and hatred
Is piling up I can't take it.

Keep asking why I can't trust anyone
but you'll never understand

If I had to count the people I count on
I'd have to cut off both my hands.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to The Crimson Armada's song "You've Changed" speak about trust, loyalty, and betrayal. The singer of the song is addressing someone who has changed and betrayed them. They begin by stating that they will stand with the wolves, even if the other person sells them out for their own gain. This shows the singer's resilience and strength in the face of adversity. They are willing to stand by their values and principles, even if it means standing alone.

The lyrics then shift to the singer's frustration with people who trade their friends for their own desires. This is a clear indication that the person they are addressing has changed for the worse. The singer says they have heard enough of this and that they will cut right to the chase. They then express their inability to trust anyone else but this person; they rely on them so much that if they had to count the people they count on, they would have to cut off both hands. This shows just how much the singer has been let down and how essential this person was to them.

The final lines of the song show the singer's exhaustion with the situation. They cannot handle any more slander and hatred, and they have had enough. The lyrics show the pain of betrayal and the struggle to trust again. The singer is left feeling let down and abandoned, yet still wanting to believe in the other person. The intense emotions conveyed in the lyrics are relatable to anyone who has been betrayed by someone they trusted.

The vocalist, especially, wants nothing to do with this album. After having 2 great albums that seemed to be Christ based, he came out bashing Christians and Christian bands. The Holy Guile, is the band he made after this album.

Every time I listen to the start of this just makes me happy because Summer is in a few months again. Fuck yeah.
