Established in the heart of Amsterdam, The Crowns were built on the foundations of Dutch liberty and freedom. A shared passion for truly handcrafted music and a free environment strongly conductive to creativity led Valentine (vocals), Thomas (guitar) and Alex (keys) to craft the first royal rock prototype.
Originally just intended for friends, the sound of The Crowns was nevertheless quickly picked up online by music enthusiasts. Inspired by this positive reception, The Crowns decided to expand their catalogue and an album was recorded independently. Previews were posted on The Crowns Youtube, where home made videos of The Crowns (main ingredients: an old camera & even older Dutch bike) have gathered over a million views.
Spring 2011 The Crowns were reinforced by Daan (bass), Jose (drums) and Ram (guitar). With this newly complete formation the first single ‘Weirdest Summer’ of The Crowns was released August 2011 and received airplay on the biggest Dutch rock radio station 3FM. Shortly after the release of Weirdest Summer The Crowns were selected by 3FM as new Serious Talent and performed at multiple radio shows including Giel’s famed 3FM morning show and MetMichiel (watch The Crowns at MetMichiel).
Following the success of Weirdest Summer, their next single ‘The Love Machine’ was debuted on dutch prime time TV show De Wereld Draait Door (The Crowns @ DWDD). The video of The Love Machine has gathered 150,000 views on Youtube since it’s release and can be seen on MTV Brand New (watch The Crowns - The Love Machine here).

In my spaceship
At the speed of light
I'm gonna make it
I know you've been expecting me
Turn on the camera' s take another scene
We go like hands up people get with the show
We' re taking over people lose control
And for the stars my people we never fall
Yes I'm an alien
When I'm touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Yes I'm an alien
When I'm touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Through the milky way
In my spaceship
At the speed of light
I'm gonna make it
I know you've been expecting me
Turn on the camera' s take another scene
We go like hands up people get with the show
We' re taking over people lose control
And that' s my DJ reaching my soul
And for the stars my people we never fall
Yes I'm an alien
When I'm touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Yes I'm an alien
When I'm touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman
Call me a spaceman (man)
Call me a spaceman
The Crown's "Call Me a Spaceman" is a song that combines futuristic and intergalactic themes with catchy beats and harmonies. The lyrics begin with the singer claiming to be traveling through the Milky Way in a spaceship at the speed of light. He is confident in his ability to make it to his destination and announces that he knows his audience has been waiting for him. He then tells the camera to take another scene, indicating that he is performing for his fans.
As the song progresses, the singer and his DJ take over, causing the audience to lose control and reach for the stars. The singer then states that he is an alien when touching the earth but should be called a spaceman when traveling the universe. The repetition of the chorus reinforces this idea, and the song ends with the singer enthusiastically asking the audience to call him a spaceman.
Overall, "Call Me a Spaceman" is a high-energy song that celebrates the idea of traveling through space and suggests that the singer and his fans are united in their quest for adventure and excitement.
