This version brings back memories of my childhood. It was often played on light music station WPAT which served the NY metro area. I'd say this was played on that station in the early 60s.

On this day in 1956 {February 4th} two versions of the theme from "The Three Penny Opera" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100... Richard Hayman's version peaked at #11 while Billy Vaughn reached #37 with it... Also in 1956 two other versions charted; The Dick Hyman Trio peaked at #8 and Les Paul & Mary took it to #49... Richard Hayman turns 93 this coming March 27th and Dick Hyman will be 86 on March 8th... R.I.P. Ms. Ford {1924 - 1977}, Mr. Paul {1915 - 2009}, and Mr. Vaughn {1919 - 1991}...
