The lyrics to The Elders' song "Lucky One Time" convey a sense of escaping from the chaos and noise of the outside world to find solace and connection with someone else. The first verse suggests a desire for intimacy and a temporary escape from reality. By asking someone to come closer and pretending to be hard to find, the singer seeks to create a bubble of tranquility where they can preserve their sanity.
The second verse delves into the idea that the world is falling apart, representing the overwhelming challenges and pressures of everyday life. The singer emphasizes the importance of staying close and not needing anything else when faced with such chaos. It is a call to prioritize the simple comforts of human connection and togetherness amidst the turmoil.
The chorus reinforces the belief that the individuals in the song are fortunate or "lucky ones" for finding each other in such a chaotic world. The repetition highlights the significance of their connection and the sense of gratitude they feel for discovering this refuge from the noise and confusion outside.
In the last part of the song, the lyrics continue to emphasize the need for seclusion and shutting out external disturbances. The repetition of "change the locks on the door, stay in a while more, change the numbers on our phones, they'll leave us all alone" suggests a desire for isolation, creating a space where the outside world cannot intrude. The repeated lines "shut everything down, silence all around, kick the noise out of our heads" further emphasize the theme of seeking tranquility and peace from the outside chaos.
Overall, "Lucky One Time" is a song that explores the desire to find refuge and connection with another person amidst an overwhelming and chaotic world. It highlights the value of shared intimacy and the need to create a peaceful space away from the noise and pressures of everyday life.
