No Good
The Electric West Lyrics

Subconcious reasons, you've always chosen death, but misunderstood
You used to be good
Why aren't you leaving?
Ignore the feeling that things were getting good
And you're still breathing
That's so convenient to him, but he's no good
None of us are good
Will you turn it off for us?
Those demons that i gave my blood...
They're breathing fire at me and telling me I'm no good
Those demons that i gave my blood...
They're breathing fire at me and telling me I'm no good
In The Electric West's song "No Good," the lyrics depict a situation where the singer is reflecting on someone else's destructive behavior. The first lines suggest that while the singer was sleeping, this person was out with nowhere to go, indicating a pattern of aimless and purposeless actions. The lyrics mention "subconscious reasons" and "choosing death," suggesting that this person has a tendency to engage in self-destructive behavior, possibly due to deep-rooted emotional or psychological struggles. The line "you used to be good" hints at a sense of disappointment or frustration with the person's current state.
The lyrics also explore the conflicted feelings of the singer towards this person. The line "why aren't you leaving?" could imply a desire for the person to distance themselves from the destructive path they are on. However, the singer also acknowledges that the person is still alive ("you're still breathing") and that this fact is convenient for someone else, possibly alluding to the person's enabling relationships. The repetition of the phrase "none of us are good" further highlights the universal struggle with one's inner demons and imperfections.
The song takes a darker turn in the later verses, as the singer confronts their own demons. The phrase "that light will lead you to the cemetery" suggests that the singer's destructive urges have the potential to lead to fatal consequences. The plea to "turn it off for us" could indicate a desire to escape the darkness and silence the inner demons. However, these demons continue to haunt the singer, breathing fire and confirming their self-perception of being "no good."
Overall, "No Good" explores themes of self-destructive behavior, inner demons, and the struggle to find redemption and escape from a negative cycle.
