A Walkin' Miracle
The Essex Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Have you ever seen sunshine come pourin'out of space
Just to be part of the smile on someone's face'
Uh-huh-huh, that's my baby, talkin' bout my baby,
And I love him -- he's a walkin miracle,
(Ooh, ooh) he's a walkin miracle.
Have you ever seen lovin that really rings a bell,
Kooky and crazy, like Romeo himself
Uh-huh-huh, that's my baby, Talkin bout my baby,
And I love him -- he's a walkin miracle,
(Ooh, ooh) he's a walkin miracle.
(Ooh, ooh)
And you should see cherries do flips, woh, yeah,
When they're picked to be the taste on his lips, who, yeah,
And I know how happy his clothes must be,
Cause that's how I feel when he's close to me (close to me)
Have you ever seen lovin that really rings a bell,
Kooky and crazy like Romeo himself
Uh-huh-huh, that's my baby, Talkin bout my baby,
And I love him -- he's a walkin miracle,
(Ooh, ooh) he's a walkin miracle.
(Ooh, ooh) he's a walkin miracle.
(Ooh, ooh)

(Fade)

Another great song. I loved their songs when I was 12-13 yrs old. I'm 70 now and I still love them.😍

@WendyKS93

As much as I love "Easier Said Than Done" by this great group, I love this song even more.

@ChrisHansonCanada

The only song in history with lyrics about cherries doing flips.

So many childhood memories with these songs. Every now and then I'll go down memory lane.

A great hit from back in the day, performed by U.S. Marines. Semper Fi to my sister & brothers who made this great record while on active duty.

The Essex sounded magical on my little black transistor radio when I was a kid. She had a wonderful voice. They were on Roulette Records, a pink label as I recall, same label as Lou Christie, Tommy James & the Shondells, and the '70s dance music group Ecstasy, Passion, and Pain. I played "Easier Said Than Done" to death, loved it! This follow-up single was cute but even as a kid I knew they were just doing a copy-cat single of their #1 hit. That was very common in those days.

Loved this group, especially Easier Said Than Done.

I know that many people can make a life out of serving in the military, but it is amazing when they can make a singing group while still in the service.
