The Expendables Lyrics

What went on last night
You were drunk then
You may not remember right
The night started out, just like any other
While getting wasted together, laughing at each other
Then you got this
Wild look in your eye
Middle fingers at the sky
When you get this rage so built up inside
It only happens when you're drunk and a mile high
You wonder why there's pictures on the wall
You wonder why you're laughing at them all
You got so drunk that night
You couldn't control yourself
And that is whhhyyy you ended up in jail (repeat 2x)
I can't believe
You can't remember
Sittin' in the hallway
Pullin that lever
We all had to get up
And go outside
Then the cops came
And they took you for a ride
Then you got this
Wild look in your eye
Yelling the cuss words
Middle fingers at the sky
When you get this rage so built up inside
It only happens when you're drunk and a mile high
You wonder why there's pictures on the wall
You wonder why you're laughing at them all
You got so drunk that night
You couldn't control yourself
And that is whhhhyyyy you ended up in jail (repeat 2x)
You wonder why there's pictures on the wall
You wonder why you're laughing at them all
You got so drunk that night
You couldn't control yourself
And that is whhhhyyyyy you ended up in jail
Up in jail (REPEAT)

The lyrics of "Fire Starter" by The Expendables tell the story of a wild night out with friends, where alcohol consumption led to questionable behavior and ultimately, a night in jail. The singer describes how the night started out normally, with everyone enjoying each other's company and drinking together. However, as the night goes on, one of the friends becomes increasingly aggressive and angry, shouting obscenities and flipping off the sky. The lyrics imply that this behavior is only brought on by excessive drinking and being on a "mile high" level of intoxication. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "That is why you ended up in jail," hammering home the consequences of their actions.
The narrative of the song serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of drinking to excess and how it can lead to poor decision-making and negative consequences. The lyrics also highlight the idea that people can become different versions of themselves when they are under the influence, with their inhibitions lowered and their emotions heightened.

Adam is such a bad ass drummer. His transitions are flawless. The band as a whole is awesome, as well as individually.
