The Jaguars Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I, I love you but I'm leaving you
Well, there's a story in your eyes
The light up in the sky, your queens, your rights,
The films you like, the mornings and the nights,
Yeah, everything seems fine at first glance But I know you better.
Your dreams are made of paper
You let them them break me
Now I think you're f*cking crazy
Everybody's Coming to my party
But I'm six feet under hiding from the thunders
Everybody, Mexico is crying
Don't Forget your roses, it's all I ever wanted I, I needed you, but I, I lost you too
And maybe you'll get it or maybe you'll regret it
You played with the new kids
And they think you're f*cking crazy
Everybody's Coming to my party
But I'm six feet under hiding from the thunders

Everybody, Mexico is crying
Don't Forget your roses, it's all I ever wanted.

Overall Meaning

In "Wheels" by The Jaguars, the lyrics portray a complex relationship dynamic and the emotional turmoil that comes with it. The singer begins by acknowledging their love for someone but also admitting that they are leaving them. They describe seeing a story in the person's eyes, possibly referring to the depth of their experiences and emotions.

The lines "The light up in the sky, your queens, your rights" suggest that the person has a vibrant and powerful presence, with a strong sense of identity and values. The mention of films, mornings, and nights signifies the shared moments and interests that initially made the relationship seem perfect.

However, the singer reveals that beneath the surface, they understand the person on a deeper level. They imply that the person's dreams are fragile and easily shattered, and they have allowed those dreams to harm them. This insight leads the singer to believe that the person is "f*cking crazy," hinting at the destructive and chaotic nature of the relationship.

The chorus depicts a contrast between the external perception of the person and the reality. "Everybody's coming to my party" suggests that others are drawn to the person's captivating persona, but meanwhile, the singer is metaphorically "six feet under," hiding from the storms of pain and turmoil caused by the person's actions. The mention of Mexico crying may symbolize the singer's own emotional distress, or it could represent a broader sense of sadness and loss.

The lyrics conclude with a plea for the person not to forget their roses, which can be seen as a symbol of love and desire. It implies that despite everything, all the singer ever wanted was to be seen and appreciated by that person. The repetition of "I, I needed you, but I, I lost you too" reflects the conflicting feelings of longing and abandonment experienced by the singer.

Overall, "Wheels" by The Jaguars delves into the complexities of a relationship where initial attraction and shared interests give way to deeper understanding and emotional turmoil. The lyrics explore themes of fragility, self-destruction, and the longing for genuine connection amidst chaos.

Sir Richard would sound the "BEST" for Mr Rawlings. From: Richard (Rick-family & friends). Richard for professional purposes. Trust me I have heard all of the derivatives of Richard. Good & Bad. You may refer to me as Mr. since I am a baby boomer. 😁

11:57 I know EXACTLY where this is! I pass by that place almost everyday. I went to that place when it was a car and memorabilia museum back in 80s.

I used to work in a welding and fabrication shop a couple doors down from gas monkey, before y’all where there of course. the owner had taken away his sons 1957 Chevy truck senior year of high school for drag racing and parked it in one of those storage units across the street, and told the son it was sold and gone. 20 years later the son found it still in that storage unit untouched. It’s now back with him being rebuilt.
