Koffin Kats were formed in 2003 by lead singer and upright bassist Vic Victor and guitarist/vocalist Tommy Koffin, who had been part of the Motor City punk scene for some time before trying their hands at the doom-struck twang of their punk-rockabilly fusion. The band has had a number of drummers come and go over the years, with Damian Detroit having the longest run (from 2003 to 2005); Katch (aka the “other” Goat); and E-Ball Walls, who played with the Kats for a spell in 2003, and rejoined the lineup in 2007. The trio released their first album, simply titled “Koffin Kats”, in 2004, and hit the road in support of the record.
Since then, the Koffin Kats have maintained a busy tour schedule, frequently gigging on the West Coast as well as closer to home, and have released three more long-players, 2005’s “Inhumane”, 2006’s “Straying From the Pack” and 2008’s “Drunk in the Daylight”.
For The Good Times
The Koffin Kats Lyrics

Bottles are covering the ground
Memories come creeping crawling into my head
I stand up and start to smile
Burning up the hours
We partied through the night
Booze was flowing like water
Someone hands me Smirnoff
as I'm Pounding back the Jack
Chase it down with Captain party time
They say the weed is good so I put them to the test
It's all a blur from there
The Koffin Kats's song "For the Good Times" describe a person who wakes up in a bathroom not knowing where they are or how they got there. The bottles are scattered all over the place, and memories begin to invade their mind. However, despite the confusion, the person stands up and smiles, suggesting that the previous night was worth it. The lyrics further describe how the person partied through the night, with booze and weed flowing like water. They mentioned someone who handed them a bottle of Smirnoff while they pounded back some Jack, and chased it all down with Captain party time. The night was a blur from there on, and the lyrics capture the chaos of the night that was made all for the good times.
Overall, "For the Good Times" is an ode to wild nights and enjoying life. The song seems to convey a sense of freedom and recklessness that comes with partying and losing oneself in the moment. However, it also suggests that such moments should be cherished and remembered, despite the consequences that may come with them.
