The Party's Over
The Latinos Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know you think your having fun, the party's just so right But theres just one thing we gotta say before we leave tonight, So what will you do when the party's over?
So what will you do when the party's over?
Your riding high and your looking fine and life seems so out of sight, but with out that beer and with out those drugs things wouldnt be so right.
Jesus came to free you from a life of toil and sin we'd sure like to see you, see you let the savior in.
So what will you do when the party's over?
So what will you do when the party's over?
Listen, you say your young, and you got time, The bible's just not your thing.
A few more years wont matter much, your gonna give your life a fling.
What if jesus comes back to take his church away?
Yeah.
What if something happens?
Do you know if you'll be saved?
So what will you do when the party's over?
Whaaaaat what will you do when the party's over?
Sofriend of mine please listen, listen to what i say, give your life to jesus and be born again today.
So what will you do when the party's over?
Whaaaaaat what will you do when the party's over?
So, what will you dooo what will you do wwhen the party's over?
HAAAAAA, I wanna know.
What will you do, what will you do when the party's over?
What will you doooo, What will you do when the party's over.

Whaaaaaaa what will you doooooo when the party's over?
Whaaaaaa what will you do when the party's over?

Overall Meaning

The Latino's song "The Party's Over" speaks about a familiar experience that many of us might have gone through. The song depicts a scenario where people are partying and having a good time; they feel that everything is going just right. However, the lyrics suggest that there is something missing in their lives, and it is the absence of Jesus. The song talks about Jesus's power to free us from a life of sin and toil and the importance of having faith in Him.

The chorus of the song repeats the question "So what will you do when the party's over?" The question addresses people who are living a life without hope and purpose beyond partying. It is a wake-up call to think about one's life beyond the present moment and to consider what happens when the good times are over. Another critical aspect of the song is the emphasis on being born again, which means accepting Jesus into one's life and committing to live according to His teachings.

Overall, "The Party's Over" is a song that encourages people to reflect on their lives and to seek a deeper meaning beyond the temporary pleasures of partying. It is a call to turn towards a life of faith and to find fulfillment in Jesus.

I remember the first time my uncle played this song for me I was 13 years old, I immediately fell in love with the song. about a couple years later I mentioned to my dad that I want to find this album then he says I have this on a LP...I felt like I begged him forever to record it for me. So a week or 2 goes by and my dad came to my grandmothers house with a cassette tape when I read the tape it said The Latinos "It Must Be Love" I bout cried tears of joy. This album helped me through hard times

I was so blessed to attend church with Harold and Ronnie Velasquez of the Latinos when I was a kid at the Church of the Redeemer (Iglesia Del Redentor) in Baldwin Park, Ca. Their dad and uncles actually formed the original Latinos in the 70s. They had some great Spanish worship music. Harold, Roger, and Eli Velasquez were actually members of the "King's Three" that traveled with the orginal Latinos! Wish they would get back together and to some reunion concerts! Thanks brother for posting!
