These singers debuted on The Lawrence Welk Show in 1955 after their school classmate, Larry Welk, son of Lawrence Welk, brought them to the attention of his father. They were a mainstay on the show until they left to start a career of their own in 1968. The quartet was only three members from 1960 to 1964; oldest sister Dianne got married, left the group, and then rejoined them again.
Over the decades, they recorded many albums. Their first album was on Brunswick Records and later on Coral, Dot, Ranwood and Mercury. They have recently released four CD volumes of songs taken from their own ABC-TV show.
They are not related to the Beatle John Lennon.
Don't Break The Heart That Loves You
The Lennon Sisters Lyrics

Handle it with care
Don't break the heart that needs you
Darling, please be fair
Why do you flirt, and constantly hurt me?
Why do you treat our love so carelessly?
And yet you seem to try
To go out of your way
To be unkind
Sweetheart, I'm begging of you
Don't break this heart that loves you
Don't break this heart of mine
Darling, please don't hurt me
Please, don't make me cry
I don't know what I'd do if you'd ever say goodbye
Remember, I love you so much
And love is life's greatest joy
Please don't break my heart like a child breaks a little toy
Sweetheart, I'm begging of you
Don't break this heart that loves you
Don't break this heart of mine
