The Maine was created by bassist Garrett Nickelsen and drummer Patrick Kirch in November 2006. Singer John O'Callaghan joined soon after auditions for the band with no prior vocal experience, along with musicians Ryan Osterman and Alex Ross. Together, they collectively released the EP Stay Up, Get Down. Shortly thereafter Ryan and Alex departed the band for unknown reasons, but were replaced with Kennedy Brock and Jared Monaco. The Maine signed to Fearless Records and debuted with a five song EP entitled The Way We Talk in 2007.
THINKING OF YOU
The Maine Lyrics

And it made me think of you
And the rain it came, and came
There you were inside my brain
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
(I heard the radio)
Play that Dylan song
(The times that you were dreaming)
But you still haven't changed your mind
So I sang and sang along
I was singing along
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
'Cause she's in my head
And I can't take it
I need you by my side
Yeah
So I'll take the chance and I'll drive 'til dawn
To show you I'm the one
Outside I saw the moon
And it made me think of you
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
(I've been thinking of you)
I've been thinking of you
(I've been thinking of you)
I've been thinking of you
I've been thinking of you
The song "Thinking of You" by The Maine is a melancholic love song that describes the constant thoughts of the singer about his loved one. The lyrics talk about how the sight of the moon reminds him of the person he is thinking about and how he can't get them out of his head. The rain serves as a metaphor, highlighting the emotional turmoil that he is going through. However, amidst all this chaos, the person he is thinking about is present in his mind. The second verse of the song talks about the singer driving in his car, listening to a Bob Dylan song. The lyrics mention how the person he is thinking about still hasn't changed their mind, causing him to sing along to the song. The phrase "she's in my head, and I can't take it" reveals how the constant thought of someone can become overwhelming. Nonetheless, the singer is still determined to show the person he loves that he's the right choice. He is willing to take chances and drive all night to be with them.
The song's lyrics depict the fragility of human emotions and how love can cause deep emotional unrest. The Maine's vocal delivery and the song's guitar riff offer a sense of solace in the pain the lyrics express. The song is a beautiful reminder of how powerful love can be and how it can consume a person's mind and soul.

Lembro de um dia que estava na varanda e olhei pra Lua, fiquei pensando em você, s, e em como estavámos distantes. Hoje tu está do outro lado da rua, mas não me pertence mais.
Por favor, volte pra mim...
