It must be love
I can't explain it
It must be love
There′s a funny look in my eye
I can't explain it
I got a funny feeling inside
Maybe it′s a way
She passed me on the street today
I guess it must be love
I can′t explain it
It must be love
I can't explain it
It must be love
I started gettin′ nervous and weak
I can't explain it
I stuttered every time that I speak
I can′t explain it
Maybe it's a way
She said hello to me today yeah, yeah
I guess it must be love
I can′t explain it
It must be love
I can't explain it
It must be love
Bells started ringin'
And birds started singin′
The moment that you took my hand
Before too long we will walk in together
Hand in hand through a Wonderland
That′s a extra beat in my heart
I can't explain it
Somethin′ tells me we'll never part
The McCoys's song "I Can't Explain It" is a classic love song that captures the feelings one has when they're falling in love. The lyrics suggest that the singer is experiencing a strange feeling in their body which they can't explain. They become nervous and weak around the person they love, and even stutter when they try to speak. They highlight a moment when that person passed them on the street and said hello to them, and they were struck with an overwhelming feeling of love.
The song's chorus repeats the phrase "I can't explain it, it must be love" which highlights the inexplicable nature of falling in love. The singer doesn't have the words to accurately describe what they're feeling, but they know it must be love. The bridge of the song introduces the idea of bells ringing and birds singing when the person they love takes their hand, suggesting that the world is brighter and more beautiful when they're with that person. The song concludes on a hopeful note, with the singer expressing the belief that they and the person they love will never part.
