Back in 1979 or 80, I found myself sitting in a room of a Thunder Bay hotel with Luther and some friends. He'd just played the lounge, and I'd shot the performance with a single video camera. And as we watched the playback, he began explaining why he'd chosen to do this or that during the show - because of his reading of the crowd or his band or the moment. And it suddenly occurred to me that this man was EVERYWHERE, touching and molding EVERYTHING along the way. A "multi-tasker" long before the term had been invented! A consummate artist!
