1) The Odyssey were a somewhat mysterious Los Angeles-based garage band, signed to the White Whale label, who cut a hot little piece of put-down punk gold in 1968 before disappearing. It's been rumored that the Odyssey were members of the Turtles working under a pseudonym, but there are others who believe them to be members of two other groups, the L.A.-based Just Too Much and the Looking Glasses, who came from L.A.'s suburbs. Their memorably defiant A-side, "Little Boy, Little Girl," has been compiled on Bacchus Archives' Fuzz, Flaykes, & Shakes Volume 1: 60 Miles High.
2) The Odyssey Story started in July 2007 when singer and guitarist Rikhard (Paul), guitarist Micky (Ace), drummer Oliver (Eric) and bassist Laze (Gene) was performing in birthday party at Kotka. One of the KISS army members had birthday and our cover band was invited on stage with setlist full of legendary KISS anthems and some 80's hard rock hits. We went on stage with the KISS make-up and all the excitement and magic we had that night ended up to form a KISS tribute band called "Odyssey". We had an idea of tribute that gather all the best parts of 1980-83 era KISS and that would sound very extreme and energetic. Due to drumming style and our tributing era Oliver wanted to wear Eric Carr's make-up and the rest of the line-up would remind more of the classic 1981-82 KISS line-up. Symphonic Music from the Elder album and rough Creatures of the Night album (and tour) gave us an inspiration to a massive and different KISS tribute band that would have same energy and heavy ass kickin' sound on stage. Our first show was in KISS Army Finland's Live KISS Party at Jyväskylä's Matsi bar, november 2007. The band's direction was to create tighter sound and go on stage with even more faster and heavier style and setlist. Next show in Hämeenlinna's Make- up Night showed new side of exciting Odyssey live that focused on rock cliches and entertaining. Later on the name changed to "The Odyssey" and next gig was in Lahti's Live KISS Party vol. 2, october 2008. These KISS songs are performed live to a few people one night before the Lahti's show!

Oh shake
Shake your body down
Oh shake
Everybody, all you people gather round
And get your body busy, move it up and groove it down
We're gonna use it up, gonna wear it out
I said one two three shake your body down
(Shake it down to me)
One two three shake your body down to me
(Shake it down to me)
One two three shake your body down
(Shake it down to me)
Ond two three oh shake
Bussy bodys, bodys lookin' good tonight
You got that hungry feelin' for some love and it's alright
It's alright
It's alright
We're gonna use it up, wear it out
Ain't nothin' left in this whole world I care about
I said one two three shake your body down
(Shake it on down to me)
Use it up, wear it out
Ain't nothin' left in this whole world I care about
I said one two three shake your body down
(Shake it down to me)
Do it all night
Do it all night long
Do it all night long
Do it all night
Do it all night long
Gonna use it up, gonna wear it out
Ain't nothin' left in this whole world I care about
Gonna used it up, gonna wear it out
Ain't nothin' left in this whole world I care about
I said one two three shake your body down
(Shake it on down to me)
One two three shake your body down to me
(Shake it on down to me)
One two three shake your body down
(Shake it on down to me)
One two three oh shake
The Odyssey's song "Use It Up and Wear It Out" is a disco classic from the 1980s that encourages people to let loose and have fun. The lyrics are simple and repetitive, inviting the audience to join in and shake their bodies down to the beat. The opening lines, "Shake shake your body down," set the tone for the song and immediately invite the listener to get up and start moving.
Throughout the song, the theme of using up and wearing out is repeated several times. The lyrics suggest that there's nothing more important in life than enjoying oneself and making the most of the moment. The line "Ain't nothin' left in this whole world I care about" further emphasizes this point, suggesting that the only thing worth caring about is having a good time.
The song's message is simple but effective, and its upbeat tempo and infectious melody make it a perfect dance anthem. It's a reminder that sometimes it's important to let go of one's worries and just enjoy the moment. With its catchy chorus and lively instrumentation, "Use It Up and Wear It Out" remains a beloved disco classic to this day.

God this is so god damn beautiful

But find myself having secret sessions of this when my partner is on bed and it just gets me right down to my soul

this song is one of the most important landmarks in my life . it describes everything about my world when i heard it - and i feel like the angels are singing to me when i listen to this song and all the hate and fear and ego goes away and i become one in many again - instead of standing out i am suddenly on the dance floor with everything i love at stake and everything riding on the moment and all of my friends around me giving me that look - the one we usually give ourselves when we take a selfie - you know the one i mean - and it is a moment sweeter than anything in the world - it is being at one with your maker - thank you for this song that has saved my life a million times and healed a thousand wounds and given me the strength to come back for a little bit more when i didnt think i could stand it anymore - AND STILL FEEL REFRESHED AND COOL ABOUT IT ALL . you guys must know me - cause i sure feel like i know you and love you . Stephan ( Miss Lilly Labrea ) oh and ps . thanks for all the friendships made over this song and the hours of joy you have brought me over the years . Viva La Difference
