Their first EP Apollo released in 2009 had a very interesting experimental and melodic post-hardcore sound. The year after, in 2010 their other EP If Seeing Is Believing was released, which had the same features. On these two EPs they had one specific lineup, after this release, everyone in the band except Jake Nolan was replaced. They went on to do a more electronic post-hardcore vibe after that with the new lineup (except for Jake Nolan who was the only original member at this point). First it was the EP in 2011 called The Devil In Me before releasing their first full-length in 2012 called Smoke & Mirrors. Diary Of My Demons was their last release and was in 2014. The band ended around 2015.

The Paramedic Lyrics

They are hiding the nature of their intent now!
Masking the nature of what's true.
We've been transformed into something new.
I can feel the beasts taking control, I will never succumb.
They try to change me, rearrange me.
What shall I become?
Joining the ranks that have met their end,
we all now leave our bodies as we transcend.
We are the horrors that keep you awake at night.
So we hunt for the thrill, and we live for the fight.
I am no longer human.
I won't conform.
I am no longer human.
I've been transformed.
I can feel the beasts taking control.
I will never succumb.
They try to change me, rearrange me.
What shall I become?
Altering the masses, with such unbridled charm.
This is only the beginning dear, so sound the alarm.
We came to party, we don't give a fuck.
(x8)
We don't give a fuck.
I will never give a fuck.
I am no longer human, I won't conform.
I am no longer human
The Paramedic's song Xenophobia is a powerful and intense commentary on the ways in which people can become consumed by fear and other negative emotions, ultimately leading them to abandon their humanity and become something darker, more menacing, and less recognizably human. The imagery throughout the song is vivid and haunting, with phrases like "the beasts taking control" and "we are the horrors that keep you awake at night" painting a vivid picture of a world driven by chaos and fear.
The central theme of transformation is also present throughout the song, with the lyrics repeatedly emphasizing the idea that the singer has been "transformed" into something new, something other, as a result of the forces at work in the world around them. This idea speaks to a deep-seated fear that many people likely share: the fear that one's identity and sense of self can be fundamentally altered by external events and forces beyond one's control.
Overall, The Paramedic's Xenophobia is a powerful and moving meditation on the darker side of the human psyche, exploring the ways in which fear, anger, and other negative emotions can lead us down paths we may never have imagined.
