I've Got A Feeling
The Passion Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

I've always felt so scared of all this needing
Everyone that I've met has been somewhat mistreated
That's how it feels when you know that something's wrong.

Then you came along like a swan off of the lake
You flew across my eyes and out into space,
And I ran and I crawled and I chased to get out fast.
That's what I did' (Whoa!)

If there's just one thing you got to remember;
Is to write down your name and your phone number
That way I'll have it and we'll make something out of this mess, oh!

And if all else fails then the ship won't set sail.
God forbid but I guess the both of us will bail
But as far as I can tell I think things will be swell.

Have you seen me cry tears like diamonds
Down and down they fly, faster and faster like the speed of our love
Batting a thousand, but a homerun crack at love
This is where I tell you that, I know love's what I need to work at

So now the two of us rely on each other
With our premonitions out in the gutter
Who would have thought that I'd make it this far

I'll make it seem like I'm stronger but I'm quite the actor
And now I'm so caught up and I can't escape this pattern
But when I started losing hope, there you were, there you bloomed

Have you seen me cry tears like diamonds
Down and down they fly, faster and faster like the speed of our love
Batting a thousand, but a home run crack at love
This is where I tell you that, I know love's what I need to work at
(Whoa!)

Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!
Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!
Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!
Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!

Have you seen me cry tears like diamonds
Down and down they fly, faster and faster like the speed of our love
Batting a thousand, but a home run crack at love

This is where I tell you that, I know love's what I need to work at, oh
What I need to work at, oh

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "I've Got a Feeling" by The Passion delve into themes of fear, mistreatment, newfound love, and the complexities of relationships. The singer expresses a long-standing fear of needing others, possibly stemming from past negative experiences with people in their life. This fear has left them feeling vulnerable and hesitant to open up to others, as indicated by the sense of mistreatment they have encountered.

However, the tone shifts when the singer describes the arrival of a new person in their life, symbolized by a graceful swan taking flight. This person seems to bring a sense of hope and renewal, prompting the singer to actively pursue a connection with them, depicted by the imagery of running, crawling, and chasing. This sudden change in dynamics suggests a newfound determination to break away from past patterns and embrace a potential future with this individual.

The lyrics emphasize the importance of seizing opportunities and taking proactive steps in nurturing this new connection. The mention of writing down the person's name and phone number signifies a desire to hold onto this relationship and make something meaningful out of the chaos that life can bring. The singer acknowledges the uncertainties that lie ahead but remains optimistic about the possibility of things turning out well between them.

This song is so special to me. Here is why: my grandma went home to Jesus on January 31 of this year. A few days later, I was browsing YouTube for some good songs to listen to for healing of that loss. Then I saw this song, and I went on and listened to it. I love that this song said "You're good and I've witnessed it
You're strong and I've witnessed it
You're constant, I've witnessed it
And I'm confident (of what?) I'll see it again and again

You love and I've witnessed it (of how You love us)
You heal and I've witnessed it
You save and I've witnessed it
And I'm confident I'll see it again and again

You're good and I've witnessed it
You're strong and I've witnessed it
You're constant, I've witnessed it
And I'm confident (again) I'll see it again and again

You love and I've witnessed it
You heal and I've witnessed it
You save and I've witnessed it
And I'm confident I'll see it again and again

I've witnessed Your faithfulness
I've seen You breathe life within
So I'll pour out my praise again
You're worthy, God, You're worthy of all of it

Your promises never fail
I've got stories I'll live to tell
So I'll pour out my praise again
You're worthy, God, You're worthy of all of it

To the broken, I'll witness it
To the hurting, I'll witness it
To the lost, I will witness it
And I'll tell them this
I'll tell them what I've witnessed

To my family, I'll witness it
To my city, I'll witness it (I'll go)
To the nations, I'll witness it
And I'll tell them this
I'll tell them what I've witnessed
This song has reminded me of how good ans faithful my God was then and always will be, rather of I lost someone I loved or Im struggling with something, I will be a witness to others of how loving and caring my Father is... this song is continually to minister to heart for what my family and I are going right now. Pretty great reminder!! Thank you Passion, you guys rock! May God continue to bless you and may He be praised always❤❤❤

3 yrs so I was diagnosed with a terminal cancer. I wholly trusted God and was thoroughly cleansed. I still have doubters that it was God, even the doctors, but I know and speak it proudly, it was God.

Just 39 years old, I have a brain aneurysm / major stroke in 2021. I was taken to the hospital by helicopter due to a critical condition. After 2 weeks in the ICU, God healed me. I can walk, talk, run. Thank you Jesus. Great is your loyalty
