You'll Be Mine
The Pierces(Wikinet.ir - HvP) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We could bring a blanket for the grass
Cover up your eyes so you don't see
If you let me go I'm running fast
One two three count one two three
We could watch the black birds cross the skies
We could count the leaves left on the trees
We could count the teardrops in our eyes
One two three yeah one two three
One two three yeah one two three
Now you know now you know
How I feel and I won't back down

Prick your finger on a spinning wheel
But don't make a sound
Drop of blood and now you're taken
For all time
With a kiss you will awaken
And you'll be mine you'll be mine you'll be mine

I could always stay and work it out
Wondering if you still wanted me
But there are so many things to doubt
One two three count one two three
Think that for a moment you were mine
I know that you saw what we could be
But then you went and changed your mind
One two three yeah one two three
One two three yeah one two three
Now you know now you know
How I feel and I won't back down

Prick your finger on a spinning wheel
But don't make a sound
Drop of blood and now you're taken
For all time

With a kiss you will awaken
And you'll be mine

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of The Pierces' song "You'll Be Mine" tells the story of a person who is deeply in love with someone, but that love is not being reciprocated. The first verse talks about spending time together, trying to make the person fall in love. The mention of covering up the eyes and counting things is a way of trying to create a comfortable and romantic atmosphere, but it’s just not enough, and the person realizes that they won’t be able to win over the other person.

The second verse explains the actions of someone who is desperate to make their crush love them back. While the mention of the spinning wheel and prick of a finger sounds like an innocent reference to Sleeping Beauty, it's actually a metaphor for someone putting themselves in a dangerous situation in hopes of getting the other person to notice them. The lyrics suggest that the person is willing to do anything, even if it means putting themselves in jeopardy, to make their love interest return the same feelings.

In conclusion, "You'll Be Mine" is a desperate love song that touches upon the lengths someone is willing to go to make someone fall in love with them. It is a song about love, desperation, and the realization that sometimes no matter how hard we try, someone just won't love us back.

Το ακούω συνέχεια μακάρι να γραφτούν κι άλλα τέτοια τραγούδια που γεμίζουν την ψυχή με ομορφιά και γλυκύτητα.

I’m 71 yrs old now and have been a big fan for years , love THE PIERCES ! Just don’t understand why they didn’t make it bigger than they did , they are so good and their harmony is amazing ! My whole family of 5 loves them ! And their both so beautiful ladies ! For several years some years back now , I hooked up my blue tooth speakers and would listen to them till I fell asleep and while I was getting ready for work had those speakers cranked up, I know that’s odd for a man my age but I’ve always liked them so much, I’ve got all of everything I could find on YOU TUBE about THE PIERCES dialed into my phone, and on my blue tooth speakers they are incredible , just ask my neighbors !

@LXPhotographie

I keep coming back to this song every couple years and the same thing never fails to happen: it's like a big wave of nostalgia washes over me and almost makes me want to cry.
Beautiful in every way.

It just popped into my head recently after 10 years or so. It felt nostalgic then, so double nozza!
