Multiple pig farm killers theory

1) he is not that bright, to get away with murdering 26 confirmed (or 49 professed) is unusual. He dropped out of school at 14 because he was made fun of because of hygiene issues

2)The police as an establishment f-ed up. Their general duty officers reported woman disappearing to the extent in which itinerancy doesn’t explain away

3) it was known they had drug/booze infested parties in which they’d pick women up for

4)there’s a highway in our province called the highway of tears because of the amount of MMIW (and the odd white women) and there hasn’t been any suspect(s) and I’ve always had this
vibe that those two areas are connected. Maybe it’s some kind of secondary hunting ground if the other gets to heated

5) there were multiple people who knew what was going on down there including one guy who was seen on video telling pickton the best way to kill a female heroin addict

6)Some of the women were found hidden on the property like in garbage cans etc, basically out in the open or poorly hidden with various items of evidence around it (I think these were the six he ended up going to trial for) and the bulk of the bodies were fed to the pigs

7) he was charged with the six (ostensibly because of the amount of evidence 🤷🏻‍♀️) but could it be because the police have a different theory

8) there was a gun found on the property that wasn’t mentioned by any of the media and police (maybe because it could be become evidence in a future case)

9)slot of his closest friends interviewed in the media were found out to be a minor acquaintance

I remember hearing about one of my uncles neighbors that had a pig farm being arrested for something horrific as a kid. My uncle had no idea anything of the nature was taking place even though he was just down the road. Later on I found out what happened. Still blows my mind that I grew up 5 minutes down the road from that nightmare

I grew up just down the road from Robert and was horrified to hear the things he had done. I still remember my brothers best friend Tim Barrett who died after being hit and left to drown by members of this family. I have never forgotten Tim and pray for his family. Not sorry we moved away years later.

As a Canadian I will never forget this horrific crime. My son 18 at the time went out west with his girlfriend to work the farms for the summer. While staying at a hostel they were approached by a man in a pick up truck who asked them if they wanted to party. They declined as they both don't drink or do drugs, but the man kept at it saying 'we dance, have bomb firers and just have fun', they walked away Thank God because as we found out later it was Robert Pickton. They did not go out west for a 3 year in a row because they were forever in fear of being anywhere that was not planed or with adults. He is now in his 30s and has a family of his own and told his kids this story and they are so happy that he did not go with a stranger. I thank you for telling this story and it's importance of the young ones that lost their lives.

Having seen so much coverage of this specific case, I came into this thinking I'd get bored. Nope. This is easily the most detailed coverage I've come across. The amount of research not only into the case, but the social variables which played a part in the case, was incredible. I always knew the victims were prostitutes but I never knew the specific social condition of this area which adds a whole layer to the case. Great video.

Yes, some of it has to do with jealousy, but a big reason is because some people consider child free individuals as mooching off the community. As in, because they don't have kids that would in theory take care of them in old age, that task would be left to the local government. You're either a green plus or a red minus in some people's eyes, and all because of money.

i’ve heard about this case in detail so many times, and no retelling or explanation of it has ever made me cry the way this one did. i’m guessing it’s because this version is so humanizing in terms of the descriptions of the victims. i think that’s a good thing because so often we focus on the killer themselves and we forget how the lives they ruined were real

I really like the way you mention every single victim and show their picture.
I've heard of the details of this serial killer before, but most documentaries only feature a handful of the victim's profiles.

When you hear "he killed 49 women" it doesn't really grab you.
When you see details of every victim, carefully narrated, and the list keeps going and going, it really hits home how many lives he destroyed.

I've been so fascinated by this case lately... It sounds like something straight out of a horror film yet it was real. All of those victims were turned into gelatin and put into various candies and beauty products. It's so hard being in the locations these women went missing and the farm where it happened. I've seen east Hastings many times and was just in Vancouver last week for a vacation. Almost went to the farm in Port Coquitlam but it was just too upsetting and dark and didn't end up. I find east Hastings lighter and easier to go to then the old farm. That place is pure evil.

I worked with the lawyer representing the families of the missing and murdered women during the 2011-2012 Missing Women Commission of Inquiry. The inquiry was held to dive into the conduct of the RCMP and Vancouver Police Dept during the investigation. I was able to meet the relatives of the women. Thank you for focusing on the victims. How can you miss the part in the doc that tells us how popular their scheme was? Who do you think were their customers? Just regular people who wanted to live at the expense of others misery. Thank goodness things are finally turning around. We foolishly thought men could take care of us. Some tried. The rest? Ruined so many children. We are going through a huge change right now. One can easily showcase out victories, while disguising our failures. What can be said is many of these errors in judgment are the basis for our advanced technologies. Many of the shunned heroes have found ways to vindicate their actions inspite of the injustice placed upon them. It has hurt us all by denying us the talents of these trained professionals.

Thank God my mom made it through life without ending up around Main & Hastings. She had mental and physical issues and could sometimes be easily influenced by others around her. Getting involved with anyone down there would've been her end. I'm so thankful she had whatever it took to not get into that scene at all, but things could've gone that way with one bad decision or other. It's also very strange about Lynn Ellingsen, a key witness against Pickton. We were in the same grade at the same elementary school. I remember hanging out with her and a couple other students during lunch breaks. We also ended up at the same high school, where she disappeared into the background, hanging out with the bad kids. She got pregnant before high school finished. It's crazy to think she ended up living on Pickton's farm and seeing what she saw. Life is weird. By the way, that bit at the end was tasteless, downplaying what those murderers did.

Often when we hear crimes involving prostitutes or degenerates of a global social view, we don't think much of it or take less pitty, when in fact these poor people deserve the most support.

By reminding us all that these are real human woman, we can be more aware of cases like these taking place presently and systematically dismiss any form of bystander effect

A conversation I had with my deceased father was about how people should be 21 to work in strip clubs. 18 is too young. My father said what does it matter? I would never be one of those women. It really upset me. I informed my father, who was in denial because he married at eighteen, that we both were still in High School when we were eighteen. We really couldn't talk to each other after that. It really hurt. He never agreed with me or apologized. He was a good father to me but I took care of myself once a teen. Not great to my brothers who really still needed a parent to raise them. We had a roof over our heads but the parenting part was gone. I still believe teens are too young to get caught up in to any of this. I am so happy that finally, the police can't arrest teens for prostitution. They are being trafficked. What adults choose to do is their choice but kids deserve to be protected. It is the people who go after kids that need to be working in the State and Federal Prisons.

It is of the utmost importance that we realize that in society certain people don't always have a choice and it is not their fault if they are simply trying to survive. I'm sorry to hear about your father and I'm sorry you couldn't be there for your brother the way you feel you should, but I feel if it is guilt you are experiencing, you shouldn't, because we all get chances to accept our past and commit to what we have learned from it. I do think it sad to see someone who is very young ending up doing prostitution but at the same time, I feel that way because it not always these people that need it the most that are protected. No they should not arrest all teens on th street (18 year olds) who partake in prostitution but there should be a strong structure in place to help these woman, and even men, if more recent years. These victims deserve a name, they are humans with mother's and family, they are not simply "things" and neither are you. I don't think you need your father's forgiveness tho, and I don't think anyone has the right to think anything negative of you. I thank you for sharing your story and I can absolutely agree with what you have to say we need to stop accepting as a society and start doing

@Hizzy Hizzles Hi HIzzy thank you. I was one of the lucky ones. I had my paternal grandmother and aunt to bring me out of the hell Dad left us in. It was an ex-boyfriend and well, yes, I lost a brother too, to drugs. I had to give up. I just can't save people who have these kinds of problems. But I tried. As children, yes, I know adults get kids hooked on drugs to put them in terrible situations. I have to remind myself everyday. I think that is part of why I visits these sites. So I don't forget how lucky I was. Well, in life you make your own luck. Everyone needs a positive person to help keep them from the darkness. Many do not. Yet, only that person can make that journey. It was definitely child abuse that ruined my family. I only wish my brother had that strength too but sadly he didn't. I could not risk exposing my children to any drug abuse. My then boyfriend went to jail whenever he stepped over the line and it did him no good. Most rehab centers are just cash grabs. In the end though, as they say,, it only works if you work it. It does work but you have to treat drugs and alcohol like they are poison. Lots of people do. If you don't, it will destroy you and it is a very slow and painful death. Rarely, does it only hurt you but also anyone who comes to care about you. Imagine if we saw commercial like that? Would it change some people's mind?

The fact is the message has to get to kids young. We need a lot more people like Chris Hanson out there exposing these creeps and getting them locked up before they ruin kid's lives. The whole, master plan of the universe has to be re-written before things will get better. I am hoping my children and grandchildren can do it. I can just write the truth so hopefully, more people will find the hope they need to put these drug dealers and pimps out of business.'

@Penny C it always amazes me to learn from other people and the journey they have had, sometimes I think my problems are big and then I realise that my problems are not even worth mentioning compared to others. Very few people can go through what you have went through and ultimately learn something from it along the way, not only that but I can see you have an intrinsic motivation to help those in need and I applaud you for it. When it comes to helping others, we simply cannot help those who don't want to be helped, sadly the person that once was is no more due to drugs or other factors, so you are essentially not helping the same person, and one should never undermine their own health and mental ability in order to help someone else. At the end of the day if you feel defeated and you try and help someone else who is defeated, it would drain one or both of you. That is why it is good to rely on yourself in terms of getting out of a bad situation, people who seek to reprimand the past or become better people due to a constant gnawing of guilt, often overburden themselves in terms of trying to help others, some feel this way about people, I personally want to help animals. And regardless of the directions on you choose to your feelings to lead you, whether it be getting rid of guilt or trying to better yourself, we must always remember, we are just humans who are allowed to be broken sometimes.

I am sorry to hear about your brother, but I do hope you never feel guilty about what you could've done, because there are always a million things "we could have done". You could've become a doctor, you could've given him the money, but that's unrealistic and you know in your heart you did the best you could. As you said, rehabilitation programs are seldomly useful, I believe you should be intrinsically motivated to help people in need and very few are. Luckily you had a caring part of your family that could help you, many don't, but you are also luckily that you are able to look back at these things and realise you want to be a agent of change. I commend your attitude and believe everyone deserves to be happy, no one deserves the power to take another person's life and ultimately we are all just humans living to create a world filled with greater good and we all deserves to be recognized

I know it’s not the same priority, but all these investigators’ mental health must have been incredibly torn. It’s such an important job and they’re trained for it but spending about 2 years just finding death upon death, body parts … and the loved ones of these women as well, learning that your loved one has been brutally killed; chosen because they were already in distress and were only met with death instead of comfort

Certainly one of the better coverages I've seen on this case. So sad that these women didn't matter to society as a whole. People ignorant to any knowledge of addiction look down on addicts as if it is a chosen lifestyle. Like you just decide one day "You know I'm pretty bored today, think I'll go stick a needle in my veins and see what happens?" Luckily I've been clean for 9 years but it was the hardest thing I've ever done. It is still something I deal with daily. As much as we'd like to think if it's that bad, than just quit. It's so not that easy. If it was we wouldn't be enthralled in this horrendous opiate addiction epidemic. The point is regardless what put these women in the path of this monster is irrelevant. These are victims who deserve the same respect as any other victim. Such a horrifyingly sad story. I also don't think that Robert pickton should be the only one locked up for this. I truly believe many people not only knew this was happening but also took an active role in it. And they deserve to be in prison too.

I actually worked with a serial killer in the 80's. I was in the shipping dept and he worked in the dept next to me. He was a tall black man who drove a van with out windows. A real nice guy that everyone liked. A friend of mine was a good friend of his and they would party together never realizing that he was a SK. One day a whole bunch of undercover police, and FBI come storming in and handcuff and arrest him then take him away. None of us knew why? Then that night on the news, this was in the bay area, they reported that he had been arrested for the murder of a bunch of prostitutes in Oakland and san francisco. He would sex them up, strangle them then dump them. I have always been amazed at SK and how they can just blend in and not get suspected. Its like their from a different planet, not human at all.

I always hope these stories will serve as a message to stay away from drugs. Sadly many victims of abuse turn to drugs and end up like this. So sad. I always wonder who buys these poor people? Why? What makes you feel good about hurting them so badly? Please teach your children self-defense. There are charities that will help you feed your families. This should never be an option.

Ive watched a video on this story. Yours is way different and more thorough. The other left out a ton. I thought yours was wrong because I knew of his confession and saw it on video. I thought he was arrested after he tried to kill the one lady and she got away. This is really despicable as far as how The Canadian police handled this case. I was growing up nearby as the missing posters of these women grew longer and longer. The Hells Angels played a part in this horror story. Willy was criminal, but he was also the fall guy for his (also a killer) brother, as well as Angel activity. The HA connection likely kept him protected for some time, to use the property. There’s no way of knowing how much influence the HA had inside the Vancouver Police Department...but I suspect it was greater than zero. Oh yeah, and there is a photo of the green river killer’s truck on the farm one time🤯

I agree. I'm Indigenous and had a rough go of it to start my life. Dad gone, mom was never home and she eventually went missing along with my aunt. I raised my sisters and cousins alone, essentially. Sexual, mental and emotional abused until 17 when I loaded up all my sisters and cousins and just took off. Had too, or lose everyone else. I am not triggered by any words. Even if those women thought it was a possibility that they would be murdered and ignored it, no one has the right to murder. He was arrested on several occasions for serious crimes and let go, if he would have been kept in prison or did appropriate time for his previous crimes, his victims would still be alive

It's a double edged sword we face. On the one hand we need the public to be aware these monsters exist, on the other we don't want to inspire someone who might see this as a competition for biggest monster, or think they can do it better by learning where these guys went wrong. It's not enough to teach the young that there are people who will hurt them, but it's too much to teach them, at a young enough age for it to help, exactly what that danger is.

Hell yeah, I can't for this. This case is fucking INSAAAAAANE. One of the worst I've ever heard of. Any horrible thing you could imagine a human being doing to another is in this case, and it doesn't have just one individual villain but, obviously Willy is the worst of all.
Morbid Podcast just did a 3 part series about this case last month. Y'all should definitely check it out, as well as this mini-doc, of course. I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

@rvaugh230 Exactly and this is where I really think that the RCMP, or a good portion working on the case knew it was him and also would've known the sheer scale of what that would entailed...maybe "unleash" is a better word. I think they knew the magnification that would be held to the investigation, the R.C.M.P and the shoddy job they had done, sheer laziness. It wasn't a high priority to them or anyone except maybe a family member here and there or a street friend or two. Not until the number of missing women got so high that more influential people began paying attention and making noise which eventually made it into more newspapers & media outlets naturally becoming more of a priority to the country & then government had to get answers. Basically, they had no choice to let it slide anymore. They could no longer use excuses such as you stated, it isn't illegal to have human remains on the property. They were basically forced to do the work & answer those questions such as the reason for the remains on the property. They really let so much fall along the wayside. Imagine being as sloppy of a killer as he was and not being caught for that long makes no sense to me. Just unbelievable. I think it was the Fifth Estate on CBC that did an excellent program on Willie and the pig farm. I notice they have a YouTube channel if you wanted to learn more about the case.

I have never been able to watch videos about him. I am a addict in recovery, and I also lived in Vancouver for a while. I have spent time downtown and I have a lot of memories of street people in Vancouver, street prostitutes, dealers, etc. Young women living in that environment are so vulnerable, and society treats people in this condition very negatively. Hello from Willy Picktons hometown. Fun fact: some of the Pickton land is still standing because it belongs to his family but they don’t want anything to do with it. There are still cows living on the property, and they’ve even managed to have a few calfs. One of the cows got out when I was in high school and walked to the local McDonald’s

The RCMP don't normally investigate missing women in an area until the figure reaches somewhere in the region of 1600-1800 and then they'll figure that something is up; so congratulations on this one guys for being extra sharp.

My conspiracy theory is there was some sort of snuff fetish club here, and Pickton (while guilty and/or involved in many of the cases) was the fall guy. Too many questionable people were involved...I think I heard the Hell's Angels frequently visited the farm...too many shady characters on the property all the time, etc. It's easiest for the police (and others involved) to lynch one scumbag and call it a day. Again, it's just a conspiracy theory but my gut is telling me Pickton wasn't the only murderer in this instance.

A family member worked at DTES Women's Association & lost 80% of her clients. She talked to her TCMP husband about this. He told her shut it down it's bigger then you think. The police knew and so many bikers, politicians & RCMP were complicit for years & only got into it after public out crys. I use to see the creep in his gum boots at the Astoria when I picked up my ILWU husband every Friday. I also lived between Clifford Olson & his parents lived at the other end of the block off Dundas St. My dad grew up & later worked at Charger transport in Vancouver for the notorious Palmer Brother's. Biggest known heroin case in Vancouver including the Montreal Mafia. They were on bail & Raymknd the kingpin took off to Australia for five yrs until caught & a yr or two later was shot on the New Westmonster Court House. Doug Palmer went to jail & was found two years later at an LA Golf Course & did a small bot & died of CA 15 yrs ago. And Donny the youngest who wasn't involved just knew about it died in 1990 of CA. I met them when I was 10 yrs old and ate and drank for a few yrs at the Waldorf Hotel on Hastings starting in 78. There are 3 books out one is The Poloynesion Excursions as the deals unbeknown to me went down in the Lounge. I had to tell my story now as there are only two wife's left and their good with it and all the kids want to contribute what was unbeknown to them also.

Detective Dickson,after having one of Picton's attacked victims complaining that she'd been abducted by Pictonshow up naked, traumatized,and with a pigs noose around her neck,sent her back to her hotel,naked.Friends report he told her "Aw Honey,you're just tweaking" . There needs to be an overhaul of the system in B.C for sure.

The worst part is that none of these women really had to die. This is not only the fault of a ruthless killer, but of the negligence and seemingly deliberate cover-up of the disappearances. I wish sex workers had more protection. I wish more people cared.
