1. A New York City vocal soul group formed in 1971.

They also served as Melba Moore's background vocalists during a 1972 tour.
In 1971, Melba was preparing for a tour and required some singers for a Gospel section of her act.
What began as a two and a half week run, developed into a three-and-a-half-year tour.
They recorded for Capitol in the mid-'70's, and made one chart number, 'Three Steps from True Love,' in 1975. It was their lone Top Ten R & B hit.
The track was taken from their album 'Love on Delivery', which was produced by J.R. Bailey. The Executive Producer was Larkin Arnold.
Also contained, on that album, is the track 'She's My Summer Breeze', popular on the UK rare groove scene.

2. The Reflections were also a Pop-Rock/Blue-Eyed Soul group in the early-to-mid 1960s from Detroit, Michigan.

They had one major hit single in 1964 called "(Just Like) Romeo and Juliet", written by Bob Hamilton and Fred Gorman. The song was produced by Rob Reeco on Golden World Records. The disc reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #9 on the Cash Box magazine chart.

3. A UK DIY post punk supergroup and easily one of the rarest titles issued by Cherry Red. The assemblage culls together personnel from Alternative TV (Mark Perry, Dennis Burns), The Lemon Kittens (Karl Blake) and The Door and the Window (Nag). They released an LP titled Slugs N Toads in 1981.

4. A one-time Louisiana group from 1971, promoted by their original label RSVP as "a five-piece band with only two people in it"--Allis Murray and Harold Collins. Their Unique Sounds of the Reflections album featured an instrumental surf-rock rendition of The Beatles' standard, "Eleanor Rigby".

Everytime I hear this song it takes me back to a very warm spring day heading down the 101 in a 1957 Thunderbird with the top down.
It was my brother's girlfriend's car, and we were heading over to Malibu for some sun, surf and fun.
It's been close to 59 years, and I still remember that wonderful day listening to this wonderful song.

If you're still listening to the 60s sound, but want a new band, The Young Veins put out an album "Take a Vacation," and the recording quality even sounds 60s (which is hard to replicate with modern tech).

I also really love The Redwalls, but they're clearly trying to sound like The Beatles (love 'em, though. Chicago band :D)

Growing up in the 60's was the best because of the music. I was born in the late 50s, but always enjoyed music. We grew up with music in the house. I also had lots of older cousins, so early rock'n'roll was big with them. Love 40s, through 80s, but partial to 60's music.

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. My mother told me in 1964 when this came out, most of the white kids were listening to The Beatles, while the black kids rammed the record stores to by this single. It reached #1 on the R&B charts.

Lots of history surrounding this recording. The original music was recorded at United Sound Studios in Detroit. It was first opened roughly 90 years ago and is still used to this day. It is a designated Michigan historical landmark. The vocals were recorded at RCA in Chicago. The finished product came from Golden World Studios in Detroit which was eventually purchased and used by Motown Records. Rumor says that several of the Funk Brothers played on the record.

Van Taylor 62-68 Elementary school and AM radio were my 60s days and this tune was a memorable feel good tune of those days of innocence. The sixties even with its major drawbacks and turmoil was a better time to come up in because the condition of the human heart was pure and real and there seemed less evil in the world even with all that was going on oddly enough.

This is one of my best memories from 1964. It always meant a great deal to me to hear it on Saturday. It was a one hit wonder for them. It made it to the top 10! Great sound and for me many happy memories listening to it when it came on the radio or Dick Clark's Bandstand on Saturday after I came back from town with my mom and dad.

Jersey Shore '65...my uncle Andy had Shore Bar, it's still there in Highlands below the lighthouse, this song was playing on the radio in our family '59 Chevy Brookwood as we went down to visit, had a great time on the beach, I remember the sand was very hot that bright day. Later we sat at the bar and had cherry cokes and beer nuts, no "PC Police" back then to kick the kids out of the tavern. Great times!

Out of sight! I was 13 going on 14, in the eighth grade and living in Hawaii when this song was on the charts! I enjoyed listening to it on KPOI, KORL and KUMU radio staions back then! The age of innocence and the teen years! Woo hoo!

Imagine if music still sounded this good. Many of our lives would be better for it! I was a radio dj in the 70's and played many many classic songs that I still love today!!!
