The Retuses's song "Loop" opens with the touching lyric "Remember me young and green." The song continues with a theme of bittersweet longing and an inability to connect with the object of the singer's affection. The line "Like I'm running out of a house drunk" has a longing for something almost unattainable hidden within it. It's clear that the singer is feeling a sense of frustration and impatience; they want to see the person they're thinking about as soon as possible, and can't even wait for the night to end.

The second verse of "Loop" continues the same theme of yearning and frustration. The lyric "The night doesn't let me take a step" creates a sense of restriction and feeling trapped. The line "And I, feeling elated, fly toward the ravine to meet you there" indicates that the person the singer is thinking about is perhaps someone unattainable, and the idea of meeting with that person is so wonderful that it makes them feel elated, to the point that they almost feel as if they are flying. The song ends with a repetition of the first line as if to further emphasize the idea of wanting to be remembered as young and green, of wanting to have a chance to connect with that person before time slips away.
