2) THE THINGS
Wild Psychotic Sounds EP - Irish Times ****
Wild Psychotic Sounds is their latest release - a self produced six track EP reminiscent of The Gun Club and The Misfits. Recorded, mostly in Dublin, using their 'Rollin Mobile Studio' this is as close to The Things you can get without catching something. - Dazed and Confused
''Maximum headspining rock'n'roll” - The Irish Times
"Rock'n'Roll Animals" - Evening Herald
Desperate rock’n’roll roars from the speakers. I feel like I’m in some New York Bowery shit hole rediscovering The Cramps - Fact Mag UK (live review)
''Amazing, aggressive, full of energy'' - The Belfast Telegraph
Some kinda kick (single) - So feverishly does vocalist Neilo howl out his sleazoid predatory lyrics, its as if his larynx is about the explode at any minute. The type of rock tune any band would kill to have written. SC - Hotpress (Single of the forthnight)
"The Things conjure an image of Screaming Lord Sutch piloting a ghost train straight to Hell; a riff-roaring ride that should have queues forming around the block" - Logo Magazine UK
"The Things, frontman is a cross between Iggy Pop and Marilyn Manson, has the Carisma of 10 bands put together" - John Meagher Irish Independent
"With songs called ‘Psycho Lover,’ and an affection for make-up and all things Hammer Horror, Neilo and Co are easily one of the most exciting bands in Ireland. Taking equal measures of Murder City Devils, the Misfits and the Cramps, the Things are just what the doctor (or should that be an undertaker?) ordered in a climate of skinny-tie wearing boy-bands". - Edwin McFee - Belfast Telegraph
"The Dublin rockers have undergone a weird, FRANKENSTEIN-LIKE TRANSFORMATION FROM NEO-mODS TO SCUZZY, SCARY SWAMP THINGS. HERE'S A SLIMEROCKER THET'LL GIVE THE CRAMPS A RUN FOR THEIR SCUMMY." - KEVIN COURTNEY - THE IRISH TIMES (SINGLE REVIEW)
THE THINGS Wild Psychotic Sounds (Big Neck): 9/10 - Rumore Magazine (ITALY)
Wild Psychotic Sounds EP - "The Things bring us some of the best punk Ireland has vomited since the 70s, and it would not be unfair to say they've trumped a lot of bands from that era at their own game". - Frequency Mag Ireland
Wild Psychotic Sounds EP - Diabolically dirty rock daubed over yer dainty eyes and arses with faint, suitably spectral hints of organ creeping around the guitar grind and Vanian-vamping, Bator-barfing vocals free-climbing up your legs and luxuriating in interiors you’re largely unaware of. Startlingly seductive, whether it’s the voodoo vainglories of Thee Hypnotics, the boom-swagger-bust of The Murder City Devils or the saturated skin-tight stomp of The Cramps this ain’t no 80’s Matchbox amateur spasmodics, self-conscious BRMC drone or Stooge-swallowing supplications. With a handle on the dramatics prepare to be ushered stage-ward and pissed on by these wild things, you’ll find you much prefer it. - Stu Gibson Sleazegrinder.com
“One of the best rock and roll shows we’ve seen in an aeon. But we’re not talking Oasis-style rock and roll, we’re talking dirty, sleazy I wanna fuck your mother type rock.” BELFAST TELEGRAPH
Tiger EP - The Things have just released a sublime taster for their forthcoming album in the form of the delicious three track Tiger EP on Psycho Sound Records. Neilo and the boys are on Top form as usual. Feast your ears on these raw garage rock gems pronto. - Hotpress Magazine
Tiger EP - The title track is a ripper, a rock ‘n’ roll garage behemoth shredding your ears with glorious technicolour noise. State Magazine
Tiger EP - Tiger is a tantalizing glimpse of the upcoming full-length album due later in the year. Drop-D.ie
Tiger EP - yet another testimony to all that is vibrant about the alternative/underground scene in Ireland today. 10/10 Frequency Mag
Tiger EP - dark, light psychelic garage punk between.. Cramps, Gun Club, Misfits....sounds like bit conflicting, but it's a functional, sweeping combination. exciting!!! 8/10 - OX-Fanzine (Germany)
'Set me free' (single) - These rambunctious Dubliners have really come a long way in carving their own sonic stamp in recent times. “SMF” is an infectious organ-toting rave up that should have you frothing and no mistake. A limited number of cd copies are available for 3 euros a pop. Lindsay Hutton Next Big Thing
3) "The Things" name was used prior to "Swingin' Thing" when they played 'punkier' music.
Can't Get Enough
The Things Lyrics

When I leave your door
when we say good-night
It hurts me more and more
'cause girl
it just ain't right
To end the day like this with no more than a kiss
And spend the night just dreaming of the things
we're gonna miss.
If I have my way
girl
we'd be together more and more each day
We'd go on forever
lovers hand in hand
can't you understand
Girl
you've got to be my woman
I've got to be your man !
'Cause I can't get by without you
I need you more each day
The way I feel about you leaves nothing more to say
'Cause I love you
girl
I need you
And I can't get by without you - no way !
It's a sad affair
wasting precious time that you and I could share
Girl
it's such a crime to hear you call my name
it's a crying shame
When we're not together then there's only time to blame.
There will come a day
girl
I do believe
It's not too far away when I can say good-night
And still be by your side to dry the tears you cried
And Ill have all the love I need to keep me satisfied.
'Cause I canY get by without you
I need you more each day
. . .
I can't get by without you
I need you more each day
. . .
Can't get by without you - canY get by without you -
Can't get by without you -
I can't get by without you
I need you more each day
. . .
I can't get by without you
I need you more each day

Loved this band but my album cover was slightly different. Same band shot. No window. Sky blue border down one side with the band and album name. Not that I'm into those sorts of things anymore now but, yeah, maybe it was the French release or some such. Get both LPs up anywhere as MP3s. I'd buy again.
